I stumbled upon El Chaparrito Tacos by accident, so I had zero expectations. What drew me to their food stand was the smell of homemade corn tortillas. Much better than average tacos. A bit greasy,but that's how I like them them.

El Chaparrito Tacos are real deal. Their tortilla is hand made, and their asada in on point. Try their red sauce, it's so spicy and delicious! I'm definitely going to hire them whenever I have a party.

Last night at the Monterey Park Farmer's Market I bought a Chicken Burrito from El Chaparrito Tacos. Unfortunately when I took it home to eat it, the burrito was way way too salty. For an $11 burrito ($10 for burrito + $1 for Apply Pay surcharge) I was expecting something savory and yummy. What I got was a salty mess. Next time I will purchase tamales from a competing tent.

Although Tacos Gavilan is a chain, I have to give them kudos with consistency. You can go to any of their 14 SoCal locations and expect to get the same great flavor, size and customer service. The al pastor burrito slaps and is super flavorful, pair it with a hint of lemon and salsa, goooodness! They are reasonably priced and offer taco Tuesdays! Inside is always clean and service fast! Give them a try if you ever pass by one! Pre-covid they offered an amazing salsa bar, where one can get cilantro, onions, pickled jalapeno and carrots, radish and salsas. This time around I visited the drive thru but a few months back the salsa bar still wasn’t open.

I attended a small business event today and had the opportunity to try their burrito and MAN!!! Their meat is delicious and all of the ingredients that came with it were so fresh!

For a $7 taco combo, it came with 2 tacos, rice and beans and a choice of soda or watermelon agua fresca (add $1 for a regular, $3 for a large) I really enjoyed the watermelon agua Fresca, it was freshly made and had the right amount of sweetness. It's refreshing and delicious! They also have a little DIY sauce bar for you to enjoy. Verde sauce was good & Service was fast and friendly too.
LOVE THE TACOS, CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND PRICES! WILL BE GETTING MORE! Okay- I found them at a local swap meet, called "howlin nights" and this was the first stop I made. I was hoping they would give me a keto style taco, (i hate tortillas) and they did! It was amazing! Their green chili was bomb, spicy, and fresh. . the cucumber was nice and crunchy, and the onion and cilantro HIT! I love that they take Venmo, (Covid friendly!) and above all, I just love that it seems like they love what they do. That's so rare now days! I hope to catch them again one day! Keep up the good work, fellas!
