This is my first time having Van Leeuwen ice cream. Ice cream is good, but not worth the price (to me at least). I'm always skeptical of ice cream chains, especially at these kinds of prices, and I think the ice cream is good but not worth the amount of dollars.

"GIRL WITH AN ATTITUDE" As an advocate customer this is more of a review on the employee. Me and my partner came in Monday night April 8th around 7:30pm and was greeted with corps like personality. As we were taking our time to look at the menu we got a dead stare the entire time feeling rushed and an unwelcoming feeling. Another couple came in so we took a seat back to let them go ahead of us and as they were trying some flavors out the employee decided to take equipment and toss it in the back room ver loud and abruptly. We were so unsettled we left and choose another ice cream shop, very uncomfortable and unfortunate experience for us.

The honeycomb option was smooth, creamy and the flavor delicious. But it was too sweet for my taste. The service was good - the server was patient as we asked to sample a total of four flavors. The cost came out to over $7 for a scoop which we think is a lot for what you’re getting.

Unbelievably good stuff here. I always get the peanut butter honeycomb thing because it's just amazing. Love the later closing time of 11pm so I can have a late dinner and take a long walk over to this spot. I've encountered the same dude working the last few times and he was pleasant and helpful. But dude the peanut butter ice cream - just unreal.

Love their cherry ice cream. Had no idea how good this was better than Fosselman's in my opinion. Very friendly but small location.

I'm a sucker for Ice cream especially late at night This was the only place open late and so I settled for it I got two scoops one being honey comb extremely bland with a slightly crunch of honey comb ... and the second one was pistachio it was even more bland ... I don't know if the flavor is supposed to be subtle but I tasted nothing, the ice cream lacked flavor completely by far the worst ice cream I have ever had. I will not be coming back here ..

Great treat to end the night. Waffle cone was actually very well made because it didn't leak when the ice cream started to melt.

Really good ice cream. Interesting flavors and vegan options. The vegan chocolate chip cookie is one the best I've had. The neighborhood has a lot of great places to check out.

Really good icecream, my favorite is the honeycomb. The icecream sandwich isn’t as soft as a traditional one, but the cookies are a good mix of sea salt and crisp. Celio and Fernando are great workers and if you see them working, make sure you ask to try all the samples. ?

This review is purely based on my opinion of the ice cream. The people who work here are fantastic. I feel like Van Leeuwen has changed their formula or something. It just doesn't have that magic like it used to. I'm not sure if it's because there were changes made or if there are just other ice cream joints that have topped Van Leeuwen. ‍

Definitely been here more than a handful of times for something sweet. So many options in so many ways. 10/10 every time.

Came in just minutes before 12am and Daniel was as nice as probably the moment he walked in that day. Great service and attitude. And of course insanely delicious ice cream. I had a waffle cone with affogato and brown sugar cookie dough and I am in literal heaven

Heard good things about Van Leeuwen so came with friends! Earl Grey and Honeycomb were delicious but definitely on the sweeter side. Pretty good, personally liked it more than Salt and Straw. Google maps location was inaccurate when I stopped by, the door looks a bit hidden but it’s off on the street next to the sushi place.

Small shop nestled in the corner of downtown LA. It was easily walkable from arts district. The ice cream shop itself is kind of small, but has everything you need. The cashier was also nice enough to let us sample as many flavors as we wanted before deciding on a flavor. While it was a bit on the pricier side, my husband and I ended up sharing 2 scoops and they were massive! Definitely a delicious night cap.
