4+ full disclosure: went here a few years ago and putting this up for posterity reasons. They've been temporarily closed for a while now and not sure if it's going to be permanent, but hoping they reopen soon. Came here with a group of friends and we got some apps to split as well as the sangria. I remember the sangria being tasty and I'm usually not a big Fran of sangria or modified wine drinks in general. The service was friendly and the ambiance felt like a fun cozy little cafe. I ordered the Brazilian Chicken Pot Pie for my main and thought it was great. Overall this restaurant is great and really hoping they make a strong comeback.

I was surprised by how amazing the house hash was. It's definitely an elevated version of other hash dishes-- perfect balance of savory, and whatever sauce they used on it was DELICIOUS.

I was so excited to try Woodspoon out - recommended by a friend. After driving from the Westside over to DTLA and finding parking, I had a little over 30 minutes before they closed midday lunch service in preparation for dinner service. This is a common way of business in Brazil as well. When I had walked in, I was waiting for a little before someone walked up to me. I was immediately denied service for being seated cause they said they were closing. I told them I wouldn't stay long (it was just me - there were other tables w/ more than one person, some with at most 4). The waiter allowed me to sit at the smallest 2 person table by the door. I had water cause they didn't serve caipirinhas (only wine) and when the menu was delivered, he gave me a short list of what was actually available - knocking out things I was anticipating on trying, the only thing that made sense for the reason I drove all the way there was to get the mixed appetizer platter which were small bites - at least 1 piece of a different typical bar food you might have in Brazil. I finished that so fast, lol. I actually left way before people who were there before me were and to top it off - not sure why, but additional people / groups had walked in after I had been seated and they were not denied. I'm not sure what the difference was, other than to wonder if maybe they were doing a private party or they knew the people in the back? I kind of feel like they were given a more extensive availability from the menu. The waiter was a nice person, but I was disappointed by the menu selection. The food was good, but disappointed by the size. Kind of a let down from my travels specifically for this place and now they're closing their doors so I will never be able to try any of their other dishes ever again. Trying so hard to find an amazing Brazilian restaurant in California after coming back from my trip from Brazil, but haven't been having much luck - help!

Unfortunately WoodSpoon is no more. It was a great spot. Known for her pot pies, but the entire menu was so good and felt like a warm hug. I truly hope the chef, Natalia Pereira, comes back to Los Angeles so she can envelop us with her traditional cuisine.

Amo a comida brasileira, o atendimento é perfeito, comida maravilhosa, a dona nem se fala, uma simpatia em pessoa.

Sadly, our first time to the Woodspoon was it's last day before closing. They were out of a lot of menu items as a result. The vibe matched the day. The food was good, not great. The staff were phenomenal. Really sorry we didn't get to try the place before now. Wish everyone the best!

So glad we got to experience WOODSPOON one last time before they close their doors this weekend. Everything was exceptional, from the food to the top notch service. A lunch date for the books. Thank you and good luck to everyone on their next endeavor.

Had a nice pre-mother's day lunch at woodspoon. The food was great! I had been there before and could not resist getting the chicken pot pie. I don't know that I'll ever find one that tastes as great. I'm so sorry to see this place go, but best of luck to everyone that worked hard to make woodspoon a success.

The quality of the food is only matched by the wonderful ambiance and excellent service. Treat yourself to some of the most flavorful and well prepared food you will *ever* have before WOODSPOON closes its doors at the end of May 2023

I love Woodspoon. I feel like I'm eating in Chef Natalia's home. Get the mix plate of coxinha, shrimp croquette and other delicious appetizers. The buttery chicken pot pie never disappoints and the moqueca, a coconut seafood stew, tastes like a family secret recipe. Go visit Natalia!

We loved this place. The location is small but instead of feeling cramped it felt homey and warm. I loved the design of the restaurant from the artwork on the walls, to the onions at the tables, to the unique cinnamon water. We ordered sangria, some white and some red and they were not only huge but delicious. Similar to other reviews I've read on Woodspoon I too recommend you get an assortment of small plates to start. There are just so many unique and delicious options it would be hard to choose just one or two. That said I absolutely recommend you get the Mix Plate which is the croquette, coxinha, kibe, pastel and bolinho. You only get one of each but they are large enough to split each in half for two people to get a taste of each. We also got the Beet Salad which was outstanding - it tasted so fresh. We also got the Crispy Chicken and Yucca Fries which I recommend after the other two. Just as tasty but not quiet as unique. Of the six of us in our group half got the Moqueca which is the traditional seafood stew and comes with cod, prawns, mussels, clams in a coconut sauce and comes with white rice. It was a great serving size, my husband finished it and was pleasantly full but the other two of us had left overs. The other three of our party got the Lamb Plate, Picanha and the Polenta. All three were very much enjoyed. 10 out of 10, we would highly recommend this restaurant! The staff was so knowledgeable and nice. My husband has some food allergies and they handled it perfectly. Clearly letting him know what he he needed to avoid.

My partner and I have been to the Wood Spoon a number of times and it has always been memorable. The service is great, food is superb, atmosphere is charming and intimate. And the prices are very fair for the quality. It feels like I'm eating the best home cooked meal but I'm dining out in downtown LA! We absolutely love it! It's one of our favorite date spots now.
