The new Spring Menu at FWD is keeping it fresh and forward. Some new bold flavors like the seabass and seared scallops are some exciting new additions. FWD has continued to be consistent with great customer service and delicious food. Our favorites are still the basics: raw oysters and their signature scallops and the crab cake. Katie Clark, assistant general manager gave us a personal opportunity, asking us for some honest feedback. It's that experience which continues to make FWD a place special.

Our meals were fantastic and the service was friendly and attentive. The NE clam chowder was some of the best my friend and I have ever had. The Paris tuna tartare was sublime and the scallops were absolutely delicious. We were too full for dessert but our server encouraged us to try the key lime pie and he was right! We were seated at the counter, so we got to see the chef create her raw bar masterpieces. It is no wonder that Michelin recognized this tiny gem! The only downside was the small space and noise factor.

We were in the area, and the name of the restaurant piqued my interest. This place is small. We came on a Sunday evening, but got seated quickly because we wanted outdoors, but it was freezing and no heat lamps. BONUS POINTS! Service was great. Friendly. Professional. Delivery of the food, however, took an hour from when we got seated to arriving at the table. It took FOREVER! I understand maybe because the restaurant was completely full and EXTREMELY BUSY... but we all ate at different times because our food arrived so spaced apart. I mean, we finished our BOTTLE of wine before the last dish came out. Wow. We've never had that happen before, and we were not extremely thirsty, or overzealous. Overall, the food was delicious. Everything. The service. Was great! The restroom was clean. If we lived in this area, we'd most definitely give it a second chance, but we don't. Would we come back here, probably not because of the delivery of food. We didn't have dinner together. It was spaced out. The food was good, but delivery could've been better, but I'm gonna blame it on how packed and extremely busy the restaurant was. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.

Well it lived up to the hype. From one chef to another..bravovery well executed. Took a little long to get my food, and I would want a little more sauce and ramen and..ok fish too for the $48 it costs...but that sauce was amazing...some spicy fish tomato sauce or something whatever it was it was bomb. The desserts look tempting...Definitely some of the best food I've had for a while. I'll be back for sure..hopefully with a group so I can taste all their dishes.

On our third visit...FWD has never filed to impress! Menu changes every time! Always good food with an interesting presentation. Had a really nice ceviche. Tried the incredible fish sandwich and always the key lime pie!

We were only in town for overnight and made it a point to go to our favorite restaurant in the South Bay. It did not disappoint. I will be thinking of the shrimp and stone fruit ceviche for a long time. Shelby made the dinner special.

The food and drinks at FWD are amazing - great wine selection too. Our server, Sophie was fantastic! I would give 5 stars (or 4 1/2) but we had to wait 20 minutes for our table after our scheduled reservation time, but the meal was worth it! I look forward to the next time.

The food was delicious ! The Freshest seafood and yummy flavors. Can't wait to go back to have the scallops and hamachi again!! I don't usually care for key lime pie, but the waiter suggested we try it and I am so glad I did. It was amazing! Had a lovely lunch. Our server was great. It's a small space but we had a corner table which helped with the noise. Looking forward to going back soon!

Hamachi appetizer was good. Fish tacos and crabcakes were OK. Keylime pie was good but not as amazing as advertised.

After we got a table in a good section of the sidewalk (read: flat surface and no slope, close to the restaurant and not their neighbors), we had a five star experience - service, cocktails and food. Peruvian scallops, Hamachi sashimi, tuna tartare, octopus, oysters, soft shell crab, halibut - we tried it all! Or at least it felt like it. But, of course, we still had room for key lime pie for dessert. I think the scallops were my favorite.

Before you even have one bite of the exquisite dishes served at this darling Manhattan Beach seafood restaurant, you'll feel welcomed as a very important guest. Are you dining for the first time? You'll receive an extra special treat. Our hostess found a seat for us at the Oyster Bar on a very busy Sunday and filled us in on the history of the restaurant while we got settled. Then John, our server led us through the mouth watering menu with perfect suggestions and a ton of charm. Tony, behind the raw bar, checked in frequently to be sure we were enjoying our meal. We definitely were! Each course was incredible. All five senses were activated as we tried each dish, and we had such a fun experience. The restaurant is beautiful, the service is impeccable and the food is divine. We cannot wait to go back.

This place is a hidden jewel. The food is outstanding. As a native New England resident, this place far exceeded my expectations with outstanding dishes, Peruvian scallops, grilled octopus, the koshinikari rice and of course chef David's mom's squash rolls (a must!!!). Service by Elijah was outstanding and chef Eric outdid himself. Overall, this place gets 10 ⭐️

What a gem!!! So happy we were able to get a table here on our stop in MB. Food was truly OUTSTANDING - some of the best seafood dishes I have had, and presented beautifully. The service was just perfect, ambiance - comfortable and welcoming. Can't wait to return.

From the first call to move up our reservation to the last course of Key Lime Pie, everything is impeccable. Dining out doesn't get any better than this. We had half shell oyster that tasted like ocean on your palate with fresh grated condiments. At the end of the bites, I couldn't decided if the oyster was better or the culinary skill was the star. Same for the sea bass! So much goes in the sauce with mushroom, turnips and seaweed, it was definitely the best I tasted!
