We are returning Redondo beach expats. We chanced SLR for lunch. We were welcomed, seated and our order taken promptly. Our spicy tuna roll and the The Shoyu on Fire Ramen bowl were both AMAZING! I grow Carolina Reapers back on my farm in NZ (along with 12 hot other pepper varieties). The level of heat, with our dishes, did not disappoint. The pork in our Shoyu ramen bowl was wonderfully tender. I wish I had more than one stomach…would have loved to try their other ramen bowls! Well done SLR?

The staff took my order and brought me my drink very quickly. They weren't super charming, but some people like the more low key and chill waiters. The food was also brought out exceptionally quickly.I had a bowl of shoyu ramen and it was pretty good. A solid 7.5. It's not the best ramen I've had, but I think it was pretty good. The bamboo shoots were hard though, as if they hadn't cooked long enough. It wasn't enough to stop me from enjoying the ramen though. The price was pretty average for a ramen place, about $18 before tip. Granted I didn't buy any drinks, just water. On the topic of water they were prompt with refilling my cup which gives them bonus points.A nice place, a bit above average.

We were the first guests on a Sunday and it was a delightful experience. We had our pick of tables and it was a nice day so we decided to sit in the sun. By the time we decided on what we wanted to try, we had to move tables more into the shade as the sun was really beating down on us. Luckily there were still only a few guests so they were able to accommodate. We tried the classic combo with edamame, the cajun ramen and the garlic truffle. The broths were very savory and creamy. Fun vibe. The children's review of this place is: "Very creamy and delicious!" "This pork is bigger than my tongue" "This bowl is bigger than my head, it's the biggest ramen in the world". True to their motto, it was slurp worthy. The servings were generous so we had to bring the leftovers to go. The edamame was also truffle flavoured and fresher than in other places we've had it recently. I do recommend that the restaurant consider having a supply of plastic bibs for kids because the slurping also meant soup dripping down the chin from the ends of the noodles.Parking: depends on time of dayKid-friendliness: there was no kids menu so depending on the age/appetite of your child, you might want to share a bowl of ramen or get a roll or bowl. They did make sure the kids drinks were in plastic cups with lids and straws which was appreciated. Forks and spoons were also readily available for those still learning how to use chopsticks. The spoons are ladle size which, while fun, can lead to mess.

Love this spot. Great location. Heated lamps. The food quality is excellent. This is going to be my new go to spot.

I can only review the vegetarian ramen- but I definitely prefer the broth and noodles at Rakkan Ramen. I just gave Silverlake another try, but unfortunately I'm still underwhelmed.

Came here for lunch as I was nearby for work meetings. Service was a bit slow since there was only one person working the lunch crowd. The ramen itself was better than I expected. HiroNori is still my favorite but I wouldn't mind coming here again. I also got to try their rice bowls for take out once and the pork rice bowl was very good!

Didn't know that there are MANY Silverlake Ramen locations, but we came here because we were meeting friends. This one is located in the Manhattan Village Mall, which turned out to be a really nice mall, with wide open spaces that you can walk around in, and lots of spots to rest and people-watch! Very friendly staff that greeted us and took our orders. There was a good selection of ramen, from the traditional shoyu ramen to the unique garlic truffle ramen, which I picked. You had a choice of fried or grilled for the gyozas, and we chose the grilled, which made the gyoza skin much softer and really quite tasty. My husband picked out the Soboro bowl, which he enjoyed. Our friends selected the Blaze ramen and Tsukemen, which had double portions of the pork! Everyone found their food quite delicious, and I really enjoyed the garlic truffle, which had plenty of mushrooms, as well as kale, which is unusual for a ramen, but not bad! I'm now curious about the other locations, and will look out for other opportunities to try more!I did want to point out that several other reviews mentioned poor service or lack of speed with seating guests. I sat close to the door, and did notice that when people came, and stood behind the sign that said "Please wait here for service", they actually could not be seen. The set up of this restaurant doesn't allow for staff from the inside to quickly see guests waiting, and it was equally interesting to see that guests would just wait outside, without getting the attention of the staff, even though the restaurant is open with no walls there. Personally, I'd suggest to the staff that they should move the sign further IN to the restaurant, so people move forward a bit more, and then they can be seen or catch the eye of staff, so they can be seated quickly. Perhaps I've lived in the SGV too long, I also don't quite understand why people there waited outside instead of waving down a staff member, lol. It's a good location with good staff, I'd hate to see that they were getting negative reviews over something that would be easily remedied! Will definitely come back here in the summer - it will probably very pleasant to sit in the open patio area then!

Nestled in the bustling Manhattan Village, Silverlake Ramen is a fast-food ramen spot reminiscent of something you'd find in trendy Silverlake, LA (hence the fitting name). I stumbled in with family in tow in desperation of feeding two very hungry children while every restaurant in the Village had 45 min wait times. Despite its modest size, the restaurant offered ample seating with no wait at 5 PM - a rare find in this area. The interior, brightly lit and exuding a hipster vibe, surprisingly catered well to families. My children were promptly given plastic cups with lids of water and a high chair was offered for our baby. The menu, while not particularly tailored for picky young eaters, featured creative ramen selections, some rolls, and a few Asian appetizers you'd find at a trendy Asian fusion spot. My husband's choice, the garlic truffle ramen, was a fragrant and rich in flavor. The pork buns, although satisfactory, didn't quite hit the mark. However, the pork belly bowl I ordered was enjoyable, with its tender and moist pork belly. Luckily, all the food came out quickly to appease my starving children. While this hip little joint may not cater extensively to children's tastes or dietary restrictions, it remains a family-friendly spot in the heart of Manhattan Village. Ideal for a quick meal without the usual wait times, it's a place I'd recommend for a hassle-free dining experience with a touch of urban flair. There was a line building up outside when we left though so we may have just gotten there at the right time. Still, a good experience overall, despite the food being average.

The star is for the check in/seating process. No one at the front adding names to the list so it's chaotic because no one knows what to do & everyone is crowded around the entrance.Today there were 8 tables open at 1:30pm and no one is being seated with a line outside. The ramen is actually really good/creamy. This restaurant has so much potential but I think they need a lot more help. There was only 1 super nice waiter today who was seating people, taking orders, and passing out the food. Bless him

Small menu but it has delicious food. I had the vegetarian ramen and it wasn't that good. Broth was miso based, so-so flavor. They put corn (tasted like canned) and green leaf salad on the noodles. It was tasteless and turned black and soggy by the heat. The blistered brocolini was the best part of the meal.My daughter had the tonkatsu basic with the black garlic oil. That was excellent. Very savory, great balance of flavors, perfect complexity. Great meal. We also shared the chicken karage and that was delicious. Light, crispy and flavorful.

Good ramen! The Shoyu on Fire was really good. I got it "mild" which includes half a jalapeno, so still pretty spicy. The service was fine - had to ask for water refill and for the check. Great location.

Unfortunately didn't get a chance to eat there. Not sure if he was the owner, must have been to be this rude. Went inside to ask to be seated and was very rudly asked to wait outside. Enough for me not to support.
