I went to an out of office meeting for work and the team for that location bought grilled chicken from Michocan Produce Market. It was absolutely delicious. Their order also included rice and beans, a side of hot sauce and tortillas. Love the side of hot sauce it comes with. For those that do not like spicy, since the hot sauce is included inside a container on the side, you will have the option of not putting it on your food. The beans had a jalapeño which made the beans taste even better. Weeks later after that meeting I kept thinking about the chicken and how I would like to buy it for myself.to share with friends and family. I asked where they had bought the chicken. It seemed like this is a place where people know how to find it but they can't remember the name and to top it off they have a hard time explaining where it is located. Eventually after some google searches and reading the reviews, I narrowed it down and figured it out. I bought a grilled whole chicken that they chopped into pieces. I also ordered the rice and beans and the order included tortillas and the hot sauce. Four of us ate and it was all under $30. My co-workers enjoyed it and one co-worker, who is very picky, was very pleased with the food, so much so, that one day he bought some for the office as well. Each time we have gone to this place, the people who work there have been very nice. They are also fast; It takes no time for the food order to come out. Also I want you to mention you could just order the chicken without ordering the rice and beans. If you do that I believe the cost is $20. I would like to add that I had their chicken before I knew it was popular in this neck of the woods, so I had no prior expectations. I don't know why it is so good. I think it is how or what they marinate it in and also how they grill it. It is a no frills grilled chicken, but very tasty nonetheless. And the pricing is still economical. Even though I find it very tasty and by the reviews, many other people feel the same as well, what I could see happening is that someone who tries it after reading the reviews, might have much higher expectations after reading several of the positive reviews. Then when they try it, they might not think it is as good as what they built it up in their mind because they set their expectations very high based on the reviews. It's like when you watch a movie that got rave reviews, then when you watch it, you wonder what the hype is all about. The store has this very hole in the wall feel. A mom and pop shop for sure. Depending on the time you go to this place the parking can be tricky because the parking lot is small.. It's dark inside the store. Definitely no frills, but it has a very authentic feel. It's definitely not a fancy place, but having said that, I think that's the vibe that gives this store its appeal. I don't know if the produce and other products are a good price since I only go there for the chicken. Although this seems to be a store frequented by locals that live nearby, I think their grilled chicken( pollo asado) puts them on the map with other customers that otherwise would not visit this store. I know that my teammates and I will crave their grilled chicken again so I know we will be back.

Really love the BBQ chicken but it's getting saltier and saltier every time I go, so we can't eat it anymore. Oh well. Wish they would just sell the marinating sauce without the salt so I can decide how much salt I want in it. Sigh.

Their grilled chicken with rice and beans family dinner is da bomb. Order at the butcher counter, cash tip generously and pay with card or cash at the checkout counter. Order by number of whole cut up chickens. I made the rookie gringo mistake of saying "dos" for two people to which they responded by giving me two chickens. I sense that I wasn't the first white dude to make that mistake. The chicken is lightly seasoned but the smokiness makes this a stand out. The salsa is super flavorful but not overly hot or spicy. We're guessing it includes pan drippings simmered down. This will be on our family's regular weekday night rotation. The store itself is nothing amazing, but I was happy to patronize get some mangos, avocados and milk.

I have eaten a lot of chicken in my 40 some years. Their pollo carbon was as good as any I can think I of.

The chicken tastes so good! Not dry and the skin is slightly crispy. You can easily feed 3 people with one order. Wish they give a tad bit more salsa which is not spicy at all.

don't recommend this store at all, they scammed me for a $25 of rompope which was only $12.I had also got was a chicken and he also charged for little salsa sides. It's not the first time I notice he scammed me.He needs to be held accountable for his actions

Love this place. Great BBQ chicken, with rice, beans, salsa, and tortillas. It's inside the Michoacan Produce Market... not the little tacqueria next door, and not the Chavez's Market. All chicken orders are "to go" only, there is no seating. The market also has a lot of other interesting foods and beverages. A great place, once you find it and know where it is!

Chicken meal with rice, beans, tortillas and salsa is the most amazing comfort food meal! Fresh, delicious and fast, without feeling like you're eating fast food. We go there every couple weeks it's so good. Plus, enough food for 4 people, so depending on how many are in your family, there may be leftovers for lunch the next day!

Only good thing there is the rotisserie chicken. That’s as far as it goes. Guy at the register is very untrustworthy. When you are paying, please do yourself a favor and double check the final quantity he’s charging you. That is no way to do business.

We were tired and hungry after a morning of picking chestnuts so we stopped by the area to pick up some food. We didn't intend on coming here but it smelled so good from the outside we followed our nose and ended up here! When walking in, the market itself is rather small as a good chunk of the shop is dedicated to grilling chicken. We waited about 30 minutes to start our order and we ordered the whole chicken and rice, beans, tortillas on the side. The chicken is a decent size and the flavoring was absolutely amazing. It's smoky, the marinade is absolutely great, and super tender. The beans and rice on the side were great too! I also really enjoyed the salsa they provided as it taste slightly different from every other salsa I've tried. Overall, I'll definitely be back again. The wait and price is definitely worth it!

Can’t believe they have pollo asado. I passed by this place a few times until I decided to try and it’s really good, juicy and flavorful! It’s kinda weird that they sell grilled chicken in a store but it’s cheap and the sides blew my mind.

Driving back from RWC to Sunnyvale my daughter wouldn't stop asking for Chipotle. I realize that just a scant 40 years ago 95% of Americans thought Taco Bell was real Mexican food. Luckily we don't live in those times anymore. While some would insist that fast food is a step closer to "real" Mexican food these days with Chipotle, their McMexican offerings are tasty but so generic they cannot be ascribed to even a subset of the myriad of Mexican cultures or cuisines. I know nothing about Michoacán or what would constitute "authentic" pollo Al carbon, but while driving through RWC with a desire to expand my daughter's horizons, I saw a huge plume of smoke as a chance to do just that and stopped in. First things first. This establishment shares a parking lot with Tacos Al Jarochito but the real deal is in the Michoacán Produce market. Go inside the market. There is only one item in the menu (two options, with or without beans and rice), but then again who needs lots of variety when they do such an amazing job with their one item? We placed our order and a minute later we received 97% of a chicken (less head and feet). Amazing chicken. Fluffy and fresh rice. Tasty beans. Smoky salsa with just a hint of heat. Only possible suggestion is to grill the tortillas for a bit more smoky flavor. Daughter no longer dreams of Chipotle. Mission accomplished.
