Cova's Great American Food

This was our first visit and we will definitely go back!!! Girlfriend had the shrimp trio and I had the tarragon salmon. Both were yummy. The raspberry vingarrete for our salads was fabulous. They also make their own sourdough bread. Brian our waiter was friendly and personable and had great knowledge of the menu. Even gave us more bread to take home. Dont let the unfriendliness look from the motel next door keep you from stopping to eat.

Amazing steak. Amazing prices. Amazing staff. We were famished after the drive from Sacramento to Merced and after our first pick was found to be closed we picked Cova's based on the Yelp reviews and menu variety. It was a great move. The outside is very quirky and the inside old school, but spotlessly clean and very very spacious. We all decided to play it safe and get the $22 New York strip. That was another great move. As mentioned, the outside can be standoffish due to the hotel next door but the food makes up for it. For such a large menu, everything was executed correct. Penne pasta was cooked well. Salmon was not over cooked and the kids liked their spaghetti. We ordered bruschetta and it was very good. Service was consistent and followed through. We will be back again.
