“The food here is the best Indian food I have ever had. I have been going here since I was very young and the owner is very nice and friendlyDietary restrictions: They have many vegan and gluten and dairy free dishesKid-friendliness: The staff are very nice and are very kid friendly“
“I think this a great North Indian restaurant. The staff is very kind and attentive and I found the food very fresh and authentic. I loved the aloo tikki chat and it reminded me of what I’d get in Delhi. I also really liked the vegetarian thali. It had plenty of food and everything was really fresh, especially the dal. This is a great vegetarian-friendly restaurant in Mill Valley.Vegetarian options: Aloo Tikki Chat, Vegetarian thali“
“Mashaallah started out as a food truck but now has a stall in the food court of Westfield San Francisco. Despite its humble appearance, this small business offered some of the best Pakistani food I've had in the city from its steam table of freshly-prepared meat and vegetable curries. A star dish here (which came recommended by Soleil Ho) was the Lamb Korma, made of super tender, lean, meaty chunks of lamb in a spiced curry. On my combination plate, I also got the Chana Masala (chickpea curry) and the Palak Paneer (cheese cubes in a velvety puréed spinach sauce), served along with rice. Every item was delicately spiced and flavorful without being too salty, and the garnishes of raw onion and cilantro brought out the freshness of the dishes. On the side, I also had an order of Garlic Naan (another star item), which was perfectly soft and chewy and had a wonderful flavor and aroma from the garlic and herbs. Overall, the food here was absolutely delicious, and the owners were so friendly and hospitable too!“
“My new favorite Indian restaurant in SF. Once we walked through the front door, we were immediately greeted by smiley employees. The dining area is cozy and intimate. I loved how each table has a vase with a single rose. Romantic touch. The food is sooo delicious! Portions are plentiful, and flavors are immaculate. Papadum (lentil crackers) and 3 dipping sauces is served as a complimentary appetizer. It's quite yummy. But you know that no Indian meal is complete without naan... and WOWOWOW the naan is GINORMOUS here. And butter chicken? Can't go wrong. So friggin good. This place is awesome. The customer service is also top notch. I'll be back again... and again :)“
“I've been coming to Himalayan cuisine since 2009. When it first tried their cheese naan with chicken korma and chicken tikka and yellow doll, I fell in love with the food, the customer service, the atmosphere, the stop, and the owner. I wish felt so taking care of and so valued whenever I would come in. So I kept coming back and then two years ago I moved to Portland and there was not one Indian or Himalayan restaurant that had as great food as Himalayan cuisine in SF. In If you I want the best of the best. Come here for dinner and bring your friends ;)Vegetarian options: The food is so good. You can't even tell that it's just vegetarian food. ;)“
“Really lovely place. I loved the veggie coconut curry. Sooo delicious! Accompanied with their garly nan and the rice, it made it the perfect combination. The server was super nice, and all the staff were very kind. I loved the ambiance. The music was super relaxing and I loved the paintings. It felt like one of my trips to India. I'll definitely be back.“
“I stumbled upon this restaurant with two friends recently when another place we were planning to go to was closed, and I’m so glad we did! The food was SO delicious—flavorful, but not overpowering, and we left satisfied, full, and with lots of leftovers! I started with a mango lassi (my favorite) and really enjoyed the amount of mango flavor but without too much sweetness. We also had the veggie samosas (big, nicely spiced, just perfect), garlic naan (perfection, saag paneer and butter chicken. Everything we ordered was simply delectable. The service was quick and attentive, but not overly so. And the space was clean and very classic—nice dinnerware, candles on the table etc. All in all I’m so happy our original plan changed and we went here! I will definitely be back again!“
“This restaurant is a true gem. Nestled in the Montecito Plaza strip mall is this truly authentic, incredibly fresh and delicious Indian culinary excursion. Every dish is uniquely flavored with generous portions and lovely service. Larry and I will be regulars!! Don't miss it!!“
“Went to royal Indian for the first time today. So good!I ordered tiki masala, tandoori chicken, garlic naan, saag paneer and Raita. No bad comments, everything was really goodI had Jalson and dipindra as my servers. Super attentive and funny. Overall? 10/10 experience“
“Very good restaurant, we enjoyed ourselvesThe servers are very nice, they made a mistake with my dish and realized it very quickly, they apologized several timesWe had a Chicken Momo to share, and a Chicken Tikka Masala and a Chicken Korma and Garlic Naan everything was deliciousTherefore, we had the chance to taste the Chcken Spinach which was also very goodI recommend this restaurant“
“Honestly, I always enjoy my experience at Pakwan. My go to is their cheese naan, which in my opinion is the best naan in SF, possibly the bay. I usually accompany it with either an aloo mutter, bengan bartha, or a chicken tikka masala. Something that goes good with naan and is scoop-able. The workers are super nice and show a lot of hospitality. I really like the ambiance and how the dine in experience is as well with the music they play and how It has a family style vibe that makes it really inviting. Overall, one of 16th streets best eats. Enjoy!“
“Best Indian fusion place in the area! A little sketchy to go at night but just don't walk around the area too much! Pani puri: SO GOOD, I've never had pani that tasted this good that wasn't in India. It was stuffed with the potato and Chana and it was spicey and just everything I wanted. We also tried the green pizza with chicken and the sauce was actually spicy. It had great flavor and one pizza was plenty for the 4 of us with an appetizer and another dish. Chicken“
“Tara is the best North Indian in San Francisco for its price point of ~$15 per entree. The level of effort and attention to detail represents exceptional value. Case in point, the tamarind sauce (provided with the mint chutney and chili sauce for the papadum) is mixed with subtle spices to cut the tartness, has a consistency that clings perfectly to the papadum, neither too thick nor too watery). Their curries all have distinct character, with specialty spice blends. Their meats are all good cuts and tenderly stewed. And their naans flavorful and freshly baked. You will not be disappointed if you dine in the restaurant, in fact, food prepared with this much care deserves to be enjoyed fresh.“
“We have been coming here since they opened. Absolutely the best Indian, Nepalese restaurant we've tried in the city. We've now tried a lot of the menu. Can't say I have a favorite since all the dishes are so good. The tandoori shrimp is one of my usuals as well as the aloo gobi. I crave the garlic naan, it's so bubbly and has a great chew. The atmosphere is super nice, and everyone who works here are the best, great service!! I'm long over due from giving a review. I highly recommend this amazing, friendly restaurant.“
“Had an amazing experience here!First of all it’s a gorgeous space, extremely intentional, airy, unique and feels like you are in another world. The sequence of the meals were perfectly spaced out and someone came to explain/introduce each dish.Highlights:-the cauliflower curry was tangy, filling, complex and beautifully presented. Amazing.-the Lamb Shoulder might have been the star. Extremely rich but not overwhelming. Spicy but balanced. Paired so incredibly well with the glazed sweet flatbread that came with it, that combo of rich savory and sweet was amazing, ended up using the glazed flatbread as a utensil Injera style.-the crystalized coconut crystals with chia and mango was such a unique dish. Crunchy yet soft, tart but coconut creamy. Pairs perfectly with the chai.-the fried chicken, a dryness to it but the dryness almost really worked especially with the lime flavors involved.-clarified Mango lassi drink, clear and fresh but all the flavors of a boozy mango lassi still present. Yum, curious how they clarified it.Everything else was delicious but these had me moved, will definitely return.“
“Aaha is our favorite Indian restaurant in the city! We've always had excellent service- they've often offered complimentary chai while we wait. Our favorite dishes are the gobi manchurian and Vijayawada special biryani. We've also tried a number of regular entrees/side dishes and all have been delicious. Highly recommend Aaha!“
“I had an amazing time at this restaurant for iftaar/dinner! Our favorites were the chicken tikka masala with Naan (they have the finest Naans!) and the beef/chicken seekh kababs. The cleanliness was excellent, which was a major benefit.I'll be recommending my friends and family about this place without a doubt! Our entire experience was made better by the owner's warm welcome and her kids. We had a great time eating at a Pakistani/Indian restaurant back home because of the atmosphere!“
“Everything I had at this restaurant was absolutely mind-blowing. My visit was spontaneous, and I brought in a friend who has never had Indian food prior. We ordered several breads, rice, tandoori prawns, dal makghi and chicken tikka masala, and every single dish delivered punches of flavours and textures, with great balance in acidity and heat. Friendly staff was the cherry on top.“
“Indian food made and offered with love. Some of the best indian food I've had in any restaurant in the country, made with true love. Chef has decades of global experience and it showed in the flavors and the cooking. We had paneer tikka, daal makhani and ordered two thalis and loved the ability to choose our lentils and curry of choice. The daal makhani was heavenly. The paneer was mind blowing. The breads were soft, freshly made and very filling. We had kheer and rasmalai for dessert and everything was just perfect. Strongly recommend. Service was excellent.“
“I got Karahi Gosht and it was authentic and flavorful. Serving quantity was decent as well. I live in the South Bay and most places over there don't get this dish right. 5* from me, for the Karahi Gosht and Naan. Service understandably took some time because they make it fresh and piping hot. And I went there in between performances of standup comedy at Cobb's next door.“
“Near San Francisco town, if I get a good restaurant there this is the one. Food ambiance and service all are good .. love the steamed momo, tandoori chicken..yum yum.. masala chai we didn't like. One suggestion will be that if they can provide red chutney with momo that will be beyond perfect, definitely will visit again“
“This IS our Favorite restaurant in Marin. Family run. Wonderfully prepared and excellent quality food. Service is always friendly. Whenever we don’t want to make a meal (lunch or dinner) and go down our list of options, we get excited when it is a Taste of Himalayas meal.Parking: 2 in front and plenty in back“
“I had their lamb roganjosh, aloo Gobi, and chicken chettinand. People might say Pakwan is the place to go for good Indian food in the city, but I was thoroughly impressed with what I ate at Keeva. This is not watered down gringofied Indian food. Absolutely loved the lamb roganjosh, the cauliflower and potatoes were very well spiced, and while I personally didn't like the chettinand, I understand the flavor profile and what that dish is. You're missing out on really delicious Indian food if you're not eating here.“
“I ordered the Chicken Thali with chicken tikka masala and it was the most delicious rich gravy I've ever eaten. the service is good and the people are friendly.i came back to try the chicken tikka masala pizza and it was great. it was a huge slice for 5 bucks n the flavors were bomb.“
“I have been ordering Rose for 4 years now living in San Francisco and it is the BEST. Great for takeout, but also have a wonderful atmosphere at their location too. :) The coconut vegetable curry, palak paneer, and tikka masala are so good! The momos and samosas are amazing too. Cannot recommend enough!“
“We ordered the paneer tikka masala and the veg chilli momos. Both were good, but the Momo portion was small. Order something else with the Momo as it is not enough for one person. Parking is a nightmare, if you are not a local, plan your parking with care.Vegetarian options: Veg chilli momo, veg steam Momo, daal, veg pakoda, paneer chili , daal makhani, saag tofu (vegan option)“
“We tried this restaurant for breakfast and we had one day Millie and the second day Jack as our waiter he was awesome, we also try Campton place bar and bistro for dinner and I highly recommend it, food and service was amazing every single time.Would definetely recommend this hotel and restaurants to everybody! It's a true sample of elegance and service. Thank you again to all the staff for going just that little step extra for the guests!!!Vegetarian options: YesDietary restrictions: YesKid-friendliness: YesWheelchair accessibility: Yes“
“Excellent buffet, beautiful interior. Service was good; always had my water glass filled. Food wasn't more spicy than I could handle -- most of the things were pretty mild -- while still being flavorful. I'm not vegetarian but someone in my party was vegan. There were plentiful options with both meat or vegetables.“
“"Absolutely loved this place! The food was delicious and truly authentic. The energy in the restaurant was vibrant and welcoming. What really made our experience stand out was the kind service--everyone was so attentive and friendly. Definitely coming back soon!"“
“We reached this restaurant around 9:45 pm on a Thursday night.Since they were closing for dine-in we decided to get a takeout. We ordered:Butter Naan: The portion size for this quite big. However the naan was a little undercooked and too thick.Tandoori Roti: Really liked it and it was cooked to perfection.Paneer Tikka Masala: It was very tasty and pretty well made.Vegetarian options: There’s a whole lot of vegetarian options to choose from!Parking: We couldn’t find a parking spot at all and one of us had to stay back in car while the other one went and got the food.“
“Highly recommend this place for authentic Nepali Indian taste. Huge portions, value for money! We ordered jhol veg Momos, chili veg Momos, veg chow mein, veg fried rice. All dishes were delicious and 3 of us ate this over 3 meals because of the huge portions. This place will not disappoint! Recommend take out or delivery.“
“Lovely combo of an Irish pub and an Indian restaurant so that's something for everyone right? A fresh samosa with beer is the way to start but everything we've tried on several trips has been excellent: fresh, great portions and prices. They're somewhat understaffed so sometimes there's a bit of a wait for the food but they're uniformly welcoming and courteous. Highly recommended.Vegetarian options: It's an Indian restaurant grafted onto a pub so between the indian food and the bar snacks there are a lot of veg optionsDietary restrictions: Vegan/vegetarian options present on the tablet ordering app.“
“This place has some amazing Indian food. I work for an airline and travel the world eating Indian and this is amongst the very best. A particular favorite is their Chili Chicken. It's tender, spicy and just amazing! Their naan is so tasty as well. I can't wait for another San Francisco layover to order again. On my last layover I ordered two meals in a row from them....it's that good folks!! Do yourself a favor and place an order now.“
“We went to this place looking for something different. They delivered. My husband had vegetable soup called Vegetable Thukpa and I had vegetarian chowmein noodle dish. It was delicious and satisfying. Perfect blend of spices and flavors. The service was very nice and friendly.“
“Found this cute little space while exploring a place to have lunch. The decor is sweet and the ambience is very pleasant and calm. Loved the food ; their tandoori chicken is the best! on top of it all the owner was very nice and kind to share their wi-fi password and let me work from there for a few hours while I had to wait in that area! very appreciative of their hospitality and gesture along with some really good food !“
“It was great experience.I was there with my friends to celebrate his birthday and the food was really really great we liked the momos and thali set the chowmein and chicken chilli was really awesome sukuti set was fabulous ,the staff was really helpful as well I really recommend it to anyone looking for a good Nepali Asian food in San Francisco“
“I love this restaurant. Not many places have Haleem and Nihari, but this one does! Everything we had was delicious. I ordered chicken Haleem and my fiancé has the Paneer Tikka Masala. The paneer masala was flavorful with a slight sweetness. The naan was huge! And the aloo naan was delicious as well.“
“Have loved these burritos ever since their food truck days and the quality and taste have stayed consistently great over the years. Super grateful for all the amazing vegan options as well - hella vegan fries and burrito being my favorites!“
“I'm a fan of Nepalese food and was thrilled to find this lunch spot in the financial district. Waited 10-15 minutes for my food, but the wait was totally worth it. Got the chicken momos, which are a solid lunch option. Kitchen/food prep area is completely visible from the dining/waiting area, so you can see the staff hard at work prepping the orders. Looking forward to trying other items on the menu and supporting this small business!“
“Tried this new take out place in Soma and was pleasantly surprised. The food is amazing, its honestly one of the bes indian food i've had in the US. The butter chicken was soooo soo good, it just melted in my mouth , the sauce was rich, creamy but not too creamy ( like most places) and full of flavor. Every bite reminded me of food back home in india. The biryani was really good as well. We also got the Tandoori wings and the chicken tikka kebab for appetizers and couldn't decide which one is better, both were perfectly seasoned and cooked. Can't wait to try the items on the menu.. Pick up was a little confusing as its in a food hall but since the food is sooooo good it was worth it. Highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for good flavorful Indian food.“
“Stopped in for lunch buffet definitely did not disappoint. Great price for ayce and great quality of food. I've been coming here for years always fresh ingredients used. The ambiance and vibe is spot on. Keep up the good work. Mango lassi is a must with your meal or the Chai tea on a rainy day sure to warm you up.“
