Liked the hotpot ..nice place ..good options. Staff could hardly speak english but that wasnt a hurdle as ordering hotpot is stright forward.

Just be aware. This place sucks also the waitress will gave you an attitude if you don't tip her enough. She will ask for more tips. But I'm sorry. I don't give a s**** Won't return for sure. Waiter ran out and asked for more tips after meal because it wasn't "enough". Wasn't that ridiculous????

The tomato pot is really good. So as the spicy pot.

I read the most recent review, which was posted a month ago, says $16.99 for lunch. Now it is $17.99 for lunch, and I think it is way too expensive for a small amount of meat and a ton of vegetables. We went there at noon, and it was completely empty. My table was their only customer, but our server still forgot part of our order. Before we ordered, a couple of my friends asked the server a question about the menu, and all of a sudden she snatched the menu that I was still reading to answer the question. Talk about being rude. I am giving them two stars because of the small portion size, poor service, and absurd pricing.

damn! should have read reviews before going here today. the place has changed alot. the menu is completely different. it is freaking expensive. $16.99 for lunch,. when we first went in, it was completely empty. first warning. I was like, should we leave?? after seeing the menu, again, should we leave??... today's damage was 40 + 4tip. $44 for lunch for 2 is crazy ... should have left.. then a couple hours later i had diarrhea ... never again....

I have been coming here since it opened I think about 4 yrs perhaps. Well, I really like this place a lot. I am quite surprised by many of the poor reviews. I recently went to another hot pot place near by and spend more than 50 for two people, myself and my teenage daughter. In my opinion, Bao House is far better. Cleanliness, quiet ambience, price wise, flavor, freshness, and nice service can't be beat. Trust me I eat out a lot and am considered a picky customer when it comes to price, taste, service, and cleanliness. I normally order beef soup base, lamb, vegetable, vermicelli with lots of garlic in my soup.

Busy for one employee. Authentic Asian hot pot. Nothing fancy, local favorite

The thing is that my friends and I used to LOVE going here. But I believe it changed ownership or something because it started going downhill. Before: - nice staff (although they would only have 1-2 people out in front but understandable because most times when we went, it would only be 1-2 tables of people). My friend and I can speak Mandarin so it was nice to easily communicate with them. - Such good portions of food! (My only personal complaint is that they literally gave each person practically a whole half head of cabbage, lol. I'm trying to eat all the other good stuff!) - Really good broth! - Sauce bar that you can go up to yourself - Reasonable pricing for individual hot pots Recently: - They have a little apps. area but they charge you for that. - The taste is a bit different now. - Less staff service. Honestly took a long time to either ask for more water or the check, etc. (The regular service staff were no longer there from what we could see.) Sad because we used to come here a lot but not worth the price anymore.

Just a small advice, please don't order beef unless you want to have diarrhea afterwards.

This place was not worth the money at all. Both the soup and the meat portions were small. I ordered the lamb non-spicy one. The hot pot came was loaded with 90% cabbage (白菜)and 10% artificial hot pot stuff (meatballs, fishballs, tempura). Moreover the corn that came in the soup tasted like rubber. I would not come here again. There was a reason why this restaurant is normally empty. 1/5 stars but I added a star since they have a decent sauce bar.

Okay service, sub-par food, we were the only table occupied during lunch time. Not that great of price either.

First time to experience this kind of hot pot from beijing. Really liked the soupbase. Yummy!

Food is not bad, but service is very slow if too many people.

So firstly, the restaurant was completely empty with only two workers... the only server was distracted by a basketball game that was ongoing the entire time, and he never refilled our waters or asked us if we needed anything unless we specially called him over for it. On another note, my food had a large black thick greasy hair in it, and to add insult to injury, the cook was smoking cigarettes in the back and I could not help but cough and hold my breathe for the entirety of my meal. The worker didn't turn off our stove and the water was served in tea mugs. The toilet was "on pause" according to the paper sign on the door and there was trash can on top of the toilet. I am never coming back!!!
