I wish if I can give this place negative star. This is worst place I ever tried.Food is not fresh and looks like must have been in and out of freezer multiple times. Items from order were super dry and wasted.Above all this owner is rude at its extreme limits. When complained about bad food quality then owner was all over me and sending harsh abusive comments instead of apologizing for delivering rotten food.Stay away from this place and save your money and spend some other good places which are still doing honest business in these difficult pandemic times.

Halal Meat is served here, per signs on the restaurant and owner is a Known Muslim. Red Kwali is a Bay Area staple for the past 15 years! They serve authentic Malaysian, Indonesian and Singaporean food. Must have the Roti for appetizer. I also like the Laksa, Chicken Satay as well as the Beef Rendang! They are open for both lunch and dinner everyday except for Mondays and Tuesdays. Highly Recommended!

I was very impressed with the food and hospitality. The food was reminiscent of my travels through Malaysia and Singapore and was soooo yummy. The chef is also friendly and hilarious. She is Singaporean with Indonesian heritage, and really invests her love into her business. Pictured here were some of my favorite foods including roti canai, satay, and rendang.

My fav place for tasty thai food. Staff is always timely even when they have a full house. The staff was very welcoming and observant. Prices that won't shock you. Food is similar to a place in San Francisco I liked.

The Red Kwali restaurant has the best Green Curry I've ever tasted. I highly recommend to get the green chicken curry if you like spicy food. If not into spicy food I recommend to get the Yellow Curry. Everything on the menu is fantastic; I've been coming here for 10+years and the food is consistency yummy.

Reliably good food, and the owners are gracious people who provide good service. Been here several times and plan to come back again. Satay chicken extra good.

The Roti Pratha is a flaky flatbread that pairs so well with the accompanying curry sauce and makes for a great appetizer to start off a tasty meal. I've had their Nasi Goreng, Pad Thai, and Veggie Green Curry- all of which I've enjoyed greatly. Red Kwali makes for a great introduction to Southeast Asian cuisine, and the staff is equipped to provide excellent service and recommendations as a start to your journey!Especially excited to try their Tom Yum Soup on my next visit!I appreciate the hard work, the good food, and the excellent service especially during these troubling times.

I arrive at this special restaurant many times because I love the special atmosphere that is part of this place. The team is highly cordial and experienced. The service is deeply fast. Also, the food you get is highly distinguished. I came many times and I was always delighted. The cost is modest. I highly suggest this place to all my friends.

Ordered for takeout. COVID forgiveness means this goes from 3 to 4 stars. Notes:- I grew up in Singapore, so I know what all the flavors should be. - Ordered: seafood laksa, roti paratha, satay chicken, char kway teow (because over the weekend I got a mediocre version from somewhere else much pricier and more well known), and just for amusement, the potstickers.- Char kway teow had ... smoked pork sausage from the US, the kind in Safeway that's probably Hillsdale Farms. While the sauce was correct, the veggies were not cooked in but were raw on top, and there was no lime. It would have forgiven it but ... the sausage was really a nono. Chinese sausage, or nothing! - The potstickers and thai dishes shouldn't even be on the menu. (Dead giveaway: pad Thai, tom kah gai) I am being driven mad by restaurants that serve Thai/Indian/Malay/Chinese (all of them) and don't pick a lane. I'll forgive you if you're serving Malay and add a couple Chinese dishes, that's forgiveable, the inexperienced masses need training wheels (hello Goldilocks), but Thai on these menus when Thai restaurants are a dime a dozen REALLY wastes the menu. The food is a DISTANT COUSIN and when you pander to it you lose the beauty of Malaysian food. Embrace the primary cuisine, and deliver reliable flavors - we will come back for that. This is why Banana Leaf thrived for so long (oops, I said it) - but they raised their prices and now have Thai food on the menu so guess what? What used to be a 5 Yelp Star spot is now 3 (super sad).- Laksa was clearly just their curry as is, not soup broth base to which the curry was added. Too many noodles, not enough liquid. Tastes like curry noodles, not laksa.- Roti size and uniformity clearly from a frozen bag. I did enjoy the roti, and it's cheaper than elsewhere (because it's not made from scratch), so just be mindful you're not getting the real thing.- Satay was super dry, sauce was sweet (Thai like) rather than spicy. Another dead giveaway of inauthentic prep.I don't know if this is a Thai restaurant masquerading as Malay or vice versa but, if you have a random craving for cheap "generally from southeast asia" this works. If you want authentic Malay or Singaporean, avoid.

Great food and a very home cooked meal feel to it. Not your run of the mill food. Worth going back again!

This spot knows how to serve their clients. Constantly with a very kind approach. The food is fairly priced, constantly delicious and clean.

The place looks nice. Decor is inviting. The food presentation was nice. But the food taste and texture was a huge letdown. First of all, the Ipoh coffee and hot chai tea tasted like it was made from the instant sachets you get in Asian stores, complete with the taste of non-dairy milk ofr milk powder. The basil fried rice with chicken that I got was ok to taste, but the rice was too wet. Not sticky rice wet, but just normal rice with too much water left behind. And then the Mee Goreng with shrimp that my husband got had to be the worst. The spices were not cooked at all and were probably added at the very end. Noodles were again wet, like they were not stained completely. We were the first of the lunch customers, so the restaurant wasn't even busy for these mistakes. And for the average price of $13 per dish, the quantity was not the usual you get in Asian restaurants in the bay area. Overall, disappointed.
