Happy to have some 便當 when I'm feeling nostalgic for my days back in Taiwan.

Good Taiwanese food. Only two tables inside restaurant, eating experience could be better but food is good and it’s a nice family restaurant.

Authentic Taiwanese food. Good price too considering the amount of food you get and how pricey things are these days. I like the no-nonsense feel of the place. Nothing fancy. Just tasty food at reasonable price.

Used to have great food but not today. The fried chicken leg was "stewed" and then fried. It must be left over of stewed chicken leg, and it shall not be then fried and serving to me. It was brown color, and very dry.The fried chicken leg should be white color under powder coating, and supposed to be juicy! No Taiwanese make it like this way! That's not the way to make business.

The best Taiwanese bento in the Bay Area. The food is very delicious and super local. If you want to try a bento, it definitely is the 1st choice.

Very authentic flavor, and I could see the effort they put in curating the bento box (the restaurant staff does it behind the counter). The passionfruit tea with lemon jelly and no sugar adjustments was very watered down, just be aware of that. I liked how tender the pork chop was and would choose that over the popcorn chicken in the future. The popcorn chicken is pretty tasty, just lacking some flavor imo.

Today, I smell a horrible urine smell in this store.I decided to tell them the truth - of course, I was kicked off the store and they threatened to call police…Anyone has similar trouble with me? I know there there is only 20% can smell stinky pork…

I smell a strong urine smell in front of the door today. I don't want to blame them, because it's called boar taint - only 20% people can smell that, other 80% just feel nothing. The owners family must not sensitive to that. But, if you can smell that, please don't tell them like stupid me - otherwise they will kick you out and threaten you.

Nice little place for authentic Taiwanese bento box. Pay with cash will get you a little upgrade on the side dish.

A hidden gem specializing in Taiwanese bento boxes, and I am still reveling in the culinary symphony that danced upon my taste buds! This place is a treasure trove for anyone with a penchant for variety, flavor, and affordability. Variety & Choices:The array of bento boxes available is nothing short of impressive. Each box is a canvas painted with a myriad of options, allowing you to experience the rich and diverse tapestry of Taiwanese cuisine. Whether you are a meat lover, a vegetarian, or somewhere in between, this place has a bento box that will suit you. Yummy Flavor:Each bite was a journey through the lush landscapes of Taiwan, with flavors that were bold, yet harmonious. The ingredients were fresh, and each component of the bento was seasoned to perfection, creating a beautiful balance between savory, sweet, and umami notes. It was evident that the chefs here are maestros, orchestrating a melody of flavors that resonate with the soul. Good Price:In addition to the culinary delights, the pricing at The Bento Box is incredibly reasonable. Free Drink:To top off the exquisite dining experience, they offer a complimentary drink with each bento box. I highly recommend the Passion Fruit Tea with Jelly. Conclusion:The Bento Box is a sanctuary for lovers of Taiwanese cuisine, offering a plethora of choices, scrumptious flavors, and unbeatable prices. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring a dining experience that is nothing short of delightful. Whether you are a seasoned connoisseur of Taiwanese cuisine or a curious foodie looking to expand your culinary horizons, The Bento Box is a must-visit. Your taste buds will thank you!

I ordered a fried pork chop bento yesterday for lunch to share. The combo comes with a free drink (option of black tea, green tea, milk tea or passion fruit tea with aiyu jelly). The combo also comes with braised pork rice, cabbage, a braised egg. If you pay with cash, you will get a free side as well! I enjoyed the combo! :)

Hello Everyone,I am leaving this review for personal sentimental reason. I have been to the bay for 20 years, and realize all the Taiwanese restaurant are retiring from the Bay Area, and it’s either the chefs are retiring, or they are not making profit for their business as all the real estate as gone up.Anyways, let’s talk the foods. Typically, you will enjoy Taiwanese bento style such as fried chicken, railroad, or popcorn chicken with 2 side dish over the rice. I had fried chicken bento box, and they did a pretty good job on adding the 5 spices with thick cut chicken thigh, which makes it a steak style chicken. The price is around $16~$17 (I can’t remember exactly) with a free tea drink. I think the bento box is good enough, and only had a sip of the tea. Hmmm, as I expected, they are bitter and mixed patch tea, and I will never order them personally. The food value is probably 7 out of 10, but I am in the for hometown nostalgia, and will continue to support them if i stop by at the plaza.add oil,Paul

Mom&Pop store serving Taiwanese bento boxes. The fried pork chop bento is pretty tasty. You also get a free drink to go with the bento so it's good value. Pretty hole in the wall feel.

I come to visit this store because of the high rating on Google. What a disappointment! Hainan bento box is the worst Hainan chicken I ever had. Service is also subpar. No plan to come back.

Been coming here multiple times for the taiwanese bentos. The entrees are pretty great. We got 1 fried pork and 1 Hainan chicken. I think its a family business and thats amazing that they work together, homey service. Both those bentos are my husband and I's fav. The bentos also come with a drink of your choice. But prices have increased quite a bit fyi. Also they got a private parking lot.
