Some of the best pastries I've had. Definitely one of the best ensaymadas I've ever had. They run a bit small but they're honestly the perfect size. They are nice and soft and they offer a variety of flavors. Personally the classic and ube are my favorite. They are a small mom and pop shop. They are extremely friendly and kind. Make sure to visit them and try their pastries.

We're in Northridge visiting my brother and he recommended this place. I'm reviewing this based on the service that was provided to us. I was taking pictures for my Yelp reviews and the lady serving us commented on why I was taking pictures. The comment was arrogant and didn't sound welcome. I have to mention that I was a Yelp Elite and wanted to review this business. She again mentioned not to take any pictures of their operations or kitchen. I have posted the pictures I've taken. She should at least be polite and say it nicely. Maybe she's having a bad day but should not take it on the customers. The ensaymada we bought was good but the service we got put a sour taste on the way we looked at this business.

Went to this place from a recommendation from family. This was my first visit and would have given them more stars but customer service is bad especially the lady cashier! We asked if they have anymore ensaymada and cashier said, no more and that we should have called first to reserve and I said no one answers.. She was rude and felt like I was wasting her time and rushing me out! Max and Lucy please train your employees for better customer service. I hope that the next time I come by here, the customer service will be more pleasant!

Max and Lucy's is a small Filipino bakery in the San Fernando Valley. If you are looking for the best ensaymada, this place is it. The baked goods are delicious and there isn't anything that I do not like. All the goodies remind me of home. I love the chicken adobo pan de sal and the ensaymadas. The service is exceptional. Maricar went above and beyond with service. She answered all of our questions and even provided history of the bake shop. The shop is small but very clean. They also offer free coffee. Stop by, it's worth it!

I tasted all Max and Lucy's Ensaymada flavors, Ube Stuffed Pandesal and Food for the Gods. They were all delicious!Their baked goods and flavors are special, and are not available in other bakeries that just sell common bread, cookies, and other common sweet stuff.Customer service was great and the lady who helped me was very pleasant.

I'm happy that my "sister from another mother"/neighbor got some for us to try. These days, the latest family favorites are Max & Lucy's ensaymada. I usually stick with the original/parmesan. Size is ideal, and sweetness level is exactly right. It's also worth trying the cheeserolls. Even my picky eater (my boys), enjoyed the cheeserolls The flavor makes me think of "bear brand" powdered milk. They are still eating them and seem to be enjoying it. I've bought from this place for three months running.

This one is a heritage bakery that boasts of specialty Filipino-American goodies. The best bunch is the veriety of freshly baked ensaymadas, cupcakes and breads. Conveniently located by the roadside of Lassen St., Mission Hills, LA the bakery provides designated parking space in the side and rear of the building. Store is open everyday of the week except Monday and Tuesday. Service is fast and courteous with personnel observing health protocols. A regular here no less!

Tried this place based on my friends recommendation. The ensaymadas are like half the size of a regular ensaymada but they are delish. I ordered a dozen of the ensaymadas and my favorite is the ube yema. The ensaymadas are moist and they are so good that I ate 6 of them when I got home.Service is fast and the ambiance is good. I took a star off because there is not enough seating inside.

I was very excited to find new Filipino bakeries in town. I love their "food for the gods", an indulgence you'll never regret. Little squares of chewy and soft, balanced sweet and salty with tasty buttery finish. You can't stop once you started. Ingredients taste fresh and it leaves you craving for more! The "ensaymada" (brioche) is airy and cloud pilowy soft of yumminess! I can eat a lot of these babies in one sitting! My favorite? The classic, butter, cheese and sugar mixes on top of this baby brioches can't go wrong. I'll be back for the pan-de sal next time. It's great for gift and to bring to gatherings. Check out the Ube, Ferrero Chocolate and The Classic.

The Ensaymada was very disappointing. I went to a filipino vendor market in Anaheim. The ensaymada is sooo small and expensive! It taste like a cheap pandesal with fillings in it. I was waiting to try it for sooo long. Not worth it. ??
