I used to go with my folks when I was younger. It still looks and feels the same way, which was cool. Staff was super nice. Food was good. Needed a bit more BBQ time and spice. Portions are big so we took home ribs, did a rub and BBQ them again and they were perfect. The Bear Pit is a staple of the Valley and good to see it is still here serving the community
I was going to the bear pit regularly with my family when i was growing up, the last time I had went there was about 1998 or 1999. So it's been over 2 decades since I've been there. Ordered their spare ribs and it was out of this world. Just like I remember having them when I was younger. Price is a little higher (blame the economy for that) but still very do-able. Thank you to the cooks and the waitresses and the front house for a wonder experience and reviving amazing memories...read full review

Decent hole in the wall family type place. The pickles & carrots sitting out was not to my liking (do they pass on the uneaten ones to the next table?) The meals were great other than the Mac n cheese, which some may like but for me it tasted like overcooked macaroni with processed cheese (store brand box would have tasted better). Garlic bread was great. Bathroom needs updating. Service was okay.
