I got the 2 meat combo with beef bbq and chicken katsu. The rice that comes with my meal was a bit hard. The meat was decent beef a bit to chewy. Coslaw and mac/potatoe salad was not good at all.
I am trying to stick to protein for my lunches and I was hungry for some excellent meat of any sort. I stumbled across Lava Island BBQ and had their chicken bowl. Wow! Nailed it. Lots of meat, incredible teriyaki, brown rice. Got the incredible protein I was craving. And, great service! Delicious, fresh, hot, tender chicken (no gristle). I will definitely be back for lunch. Worth the 13-mile drive from home or a stop while driving on the freeway! And, very close to the Avery Parkway...read full review

Food was pretty good here and came with extra sauce on the side. The food came out warm, and could've used a quick heat up on the griddle. Mactato salad they recommended was awesome. I would go back just to order that.
