Very disappointing - fish is low quality, fishy aftertaste :( portions also very small :( unpleasant smell in the dining room during pickup :( the people working seem very friendly, but I unfortunately was very disappointed in my Pickup order. I had 3 rolls, #4,14,15. Only the lake forest roll was just okay... very expensive for what they served us.. :(

Best family owned local business, best sushi this side of Lake forest - great imported fish from around the world and so delicious. Guys are artists here so get ready for beautifully prepared and epic sushi.

Delicious rolls! I haven't tried the sashimi but the rolls are definitely tasty here. Very friendly staff. A nice casual atmosphere. Great for date night or ordering in for the family.

We absolutely LOVE Sashimi. The sushi is always so fresh and SO DELICIOUS. The best I’ve ever had. We are greeted like family and treated like royalty every time we go in. Steve always remembers us and our preferences. I can’t say enough positive wonderful things about the beautiful, kind, talented people that work at sashimi. We are in love!

Sashimi exceeded all expectations! The sushi was incredibly fresh and flavorful, with a diverse menu to satisfy any palate. The service was top-notch, and the ambiance added to the overall enjoyment. Highly recommend for any sushi lover!

Found this on Yelp as a local sushi place and wanted to support a local business. Japanese food and specifically sushi is one of my family's favorite dishes and we've had a variety of options in the area. My wife and I were feeling takeout, so we placed an order by phone, which was simple and efficient. When I arrived at Sashimi, there was ample parking available and it was easy to fine. There is counter seating where you can see the sushi chef make the sushi in front of you, as well as regular tables to sit at, I would say it is a small-medium sized restaurant. Food-wise, we ordered a rainbow roll, pork katsu combination meal with spicy tuna roll, and the Lake Forest Roll. The quality was pretty average, as indicated by my three star review. The sushi wasn't that fresh and the taste didn't stand out or wow me in any way. In addition, the rice that was a part of the pork katsu combination meal was dry and unappetizing, which is a big no-no, especially at Japanese or sushi restaurants. If the dishes were cheaper, the quality to value would have been a lot better, but similar to other reviewer's experiences, the pricing here is pretty expensive, whether it is their combination meals or rolls. I want to give this place another try and hope that an in-person experience will taste better. Fortunately, the Lake Forest Shop and Dine BOGO gift card program will help alleviate the higher costs, and I hope to come here in-person sometime.

Didn't think I'd ever find a decent a la carte sushi spot in South County, but this is the place! As long as the prices don't give you sticker shock, the quality of the sashimi is excellent and are huge generous cuts! Also if you're a fan of crispy rice and spicy tuna, the Super Bowl here is so good. I have to give special mention for the ginger here, it is so so good and I never eat ginger with my sushi, but the way they make theirs is so worth adding to each bite of sashimi. Plenty of seating indoor and outdoor, friendly (though slow) service, and beautifully presented plates.

I don't understand how this got such good rating..... sushi, rolls, sashimi.... All horrible. We came here a couple of years ago and didn't like it. We thought we would give it a second chance & regret it. Fish was NOT cold- which made it even worse. And almost EVERY roll is stuffed with spicy tuna- which is like a cheap filler. Flavor was bland and disappointing. The whole place smelled like muggy bathroom water and I feel like I will be sick from it all later I hate to be harsh but they really need to work on their rolls.

Delicious sushi and super warm, friendly, and welcoming service! We often speak to the owners. They are so kind! The environment is great with ample seating in a clean restaurant. There is a great variety of menu items to choose from. This is our favorite sushi place in the area!
They're very kind. The remember us when we come in and their service is great. Only thing I would complain about is the sewage smell by the last table.

Took my son for his birthday at lunch today. The place is inconspicuous and not too big, but it was impressive.Very clean, attentive, and hospitable. The quality of the food was high (and so was the price - a little on the high side, but definitely worth it).A little dead at lunch time, but made for a more relaxed atmosphere.Would definitely go again.

Fiancé and I came here a few weeks ago. We ordered enormous amounts of rolls, sushi, sake, beers, and appetizers. Every single thing was delicious. Superb customer service and super fresh fish. 5/5 would recommend!

With sushi, it is all about balance. Sometimes they cut the fish too thick, sometimes too thin. Often the rice is overcooked or undercooked. Not enough rice vinegar or too much -- Nobu Matsuhisa Here at Sashimi, at least for my later Saturday night dinner, they do it just right :-) Rolls, sushi, sake; it was all so lovely and so perfect. Pricey no doubt, but worth every penny. The photos just show a little bit of what we loved. Open until 9:30-10pm in an area not known for restaurants being open at this time. A healthy crowd had the same good taste we did. Highly recommended!
