There are so many choices for Mexican food in Modesto. We use to come here a lot but it had been a while so we came on a Friday afternoon. I had a combo with chile relleno and cheese enchilada with red sauce. Wife had a veggie burrito with red and green sauce. That red sauce was so good!!! Great service and we really enjoyed our entire meal. The second basket of chips.......yes we had two baskets... don't judge! That second basket was freshly made and still warm and just tasty crunchy fresh chips and the house sauce was better than I remember. We will start coming back here and have that red sauce again....

I ordered their torta ahogada. Which according to their advertisement is estilo guadalajara. I was very excited as I have had great tortas ahogadas whenever i go to Guadalajara. Their torta here was very subpar. Their tomato sauce was very salty, the carnitas were also very salty and to top it off, they do not have the main component to the torta ahogada. Which is the hot sauce! A very specific one that goes with it. I simply got served a salty, soggy torta that tasted like salty tomato. They missed the target on this one. They were nice when I kindly declined to finish it and took it off my bill. The staff was rather nice about it. I will simply try something else next time.

Upon arriving at dos compadres early in the morning, I found myself waiting for a table despite the restaurant's limited occupancy at that hour. The delay seemed odd, highlighting the need for improved attentiveness from the hostess. Nevertheless, once seated, our waiter promptly took our drink orders and the food arrived swiftly not too far after, delighting our taste buds with its delicious flavors. Despite the initial hiccup, I would gladly return for another dining experience. The dos compadres tacos are extremely rich with flavor and unique I recommend anyone to try these!

Just kickin some dirt clods with my old pal Peter Punkaneater, we just finished laying out the string lines for this years garden. We were on our way to Dos Compadres Restaurant for the best tacos ever! and I asked Peter, "Peter Punkaneater, how does your garden grow" there's a lot of work to do, it's 6 acres and you plant everything you can think of. Peter tells me his ranch Forman Arturo Sanchez Gutierrez Wong and his son take care of everything and they take all the vegetables to the Farmers Market, he has a booth there, and the name of his booth is, One Wong Turn at the Boarder Vegetables.He tells me the Tacos de Carne Asada are the best on Modesto, and he was right...they were Amazing!5 stars all day long. ☆☆☆☆☆

Service is great very attentive while being friendly and acknowledging every detail to asking for more chips getting more water without asking.Everytime we come here no matter who our server is absolutely great and the food is absolutely delicious nothing misses with them.We had ordered drinks and they were absolutely amazing no complaints every when we come here.I love the restaurant look to very clean and refreshing look makes you feel like your walking into a restaurant in mexico.

This is “MY PLACE”! I love this Mexican restaurant! It is walking distance to my house so my boyfriend and I come here often. We have never had a bad experience here when it comes to service and the atmosphere. Our food had come out incorrect quite a few times and my friends I bring also have pointed this out when I bring them with me. However this is typically corrected promptly and without debate. Their drinks are delicious and the food is fire when it comes out right.

Horrible customer service!!! These employees need a LOT of training! Ordered DoorDash and got the Chile Verde. When I received the order there was absolutely no Chile verde sauce on the meat, bone dry! I called to tell them about their mistake, and the girl on the phone gave a lot of attitude and told me I could come in and get the sauce if I wanted to. I won't be back there again.

Nice restaurant. I had el bondigas soup and it was really good. I had a strawberry margarita it was okay but they made up for it by having my favorite Peanut Butter Screwball! Highly recommendParking: Not a lot of parking in front but more on the side and plenty in the back.

Not sure why the name on Yelp includes "Taqueria"--this place is a traditional sit-down restaurant. I had a very yummy and large carnitas chimichanga that had more carnitas than it had rice and beans, which is the opposite of what I usually get. The tortilla chips were delicious and the salsa was better than most. The service was good and the employees were friendly. This all adds up to a five star meal. Looking forward to eating here again.
