My first detailed review since this is one of the first AYCE hot pots in Modesto, and I want to give my thoughts about it, so apologies for the long paragraphs I'm about to type! Let me tell you something. It's been a hot, HOT minute that I've been to an AYCE hot pot, and it's in the Bay of course (e.g. Shabuway). I was curious to try this out yet it's one of the first locations in the U.S. (mainland), the rest are in Hawaii. By the ambiance, it was super clean and came in on a normal Tuesday with my dad, when they just opened. However, during the weekends, be prepared for the wait time, as it's best to be a bit early before it closes so that you have a chance to try this place. Now onto the experience. As usual AYCE Shabu Shabu places, you order the soup base and order your meat. During lunch (which I went), meat (unless you pay extra for their premium meat), the sides, and the sauce bar are unlimited. I picked the miso base while my dad picked the seafood base. The conveyor belt on the side to have easy access in getting your sides, which honestly is so cool to take as many as you like. Also if you order meat, there will be a cute train delivering them to you, which is also cool to see. For the taste? Chef's kiss. Miso is super rich and yummy, while the seafood is good too. Haven't tried the other flavors but planning to order some next time. You can only order one soup base though and can't change a different soup base. However you can ask your server to ask for more broth, just that the flavor will be in original. The meat is fresh and tender, as well as my sides complement beautifully with the soup. Dipping sauces also complement too, and that sesame sauce...my GOODNESS. It reminded me of one of the sauces I tried in a KBBQ restaurant. In conclusion, for the atmosphere, unlimited meat, sides, and sauces, plus the quick service, $24 for lunch AYCE is worth it. And especially since I didn't see one AYCE hot pot location in Modesto, this is a start for many people to hang out and enjoy the comfort of eating Shabu Shabu without driving to the Bay. Trust me, if you're waiting for an hour on a busy Saturday, it'll be WORTH. THE. WAIT. :)

It is an interesting concept, but they need to make great improvements. The individual plates are not labeled and many items are not identifiable at least in our market. Our waiter Was not very attentive, and the first person that we asked questions of could not answer our questions

We came here for lunch and we will definitely be coming back. The restaurant was extremely clean. The staff was very friendly and brought out samples of the broth to try before making a decision.

Very excited to finally have a hot pot in town!!! Love the decor and layout. Very open with conveyor belts offering all sides as part of the all you can eat meal. Such a fun experience and great customer service. We will definitely come back to try the other menu items!

We went on a Sunday evening. The place was spacious with plenty of table. There were only a few tables that were filled. We sat down right away. This was our first time here and wasn't sure how it worked. The server wasn't that great on telling us the process. This is a AYCE. You first order your appetizers (not included in AYCE). We opt out on appetizers. You then pick your soup bad. There are many soup base to pick from. You then order your meats. There weren't that many choice of meats to order. It's either beef, chicken, lamb or pig bellies. Two other available were at a additional cost. All other items are on the conveyor belt in little plates you can grab as it comes by. Your ordered meats are delivered to you by a train on top of the conveyor, Which was pretty cool. Items available for you to pick from in the conveyor belt were broccoli, Napa cabbage, sausage links, blue crab, meatballs, mussels, mushroom, ramen, seaweeds, hillshire sausage, pineapple sausages, shrimps, and lettuce. For a weekend price I would assume there will be better options to chose from. I may try a weekday lunch to see what the difference is. It may just be the price difference and not the food choice. The conveyor belt was getting empty and we were waiting for ramen and mussel. I asked the server on how often do they refill the empty conveyor and he didn't get me a answer but said he will go and tell them. It does not look like they replace items as people take them which was a disappointment. You have the same thing running on the belt. The server were attentive and comes around refilling waters and our hot pot. The sauce bar is at the front of the restaurant and you can make your own dipping sauce. Over all it was a good experience and will try it again during a weekday/lunch. Would give it a better rating if the conveyor wasn't so empty and not filled with mostly vegetables and noodles. It was a lot of waiting to actually get what you want.

This is the best new spot in Modesto. The atmosphere is most welcoming. The whole overall experience was so fun.The service was impeccable. You are met with your server who takes you to your table to explain the whole experience to you. While you wait, you can go over to the bar and make your own sauce. The server makes sure they checkin with you so often making sure you're satisfied with your selection. I honestly have not experienced this level of great customer service in Modesto. It's all you can eat. You start off with pot of your choice of flavored broth. Your meat options are chicken, ribeye, lamb or pork belly. You cook the meat in the flavored broth and then there's an option to dip the meat into your personalized sauce. The meat is delivered on a little train straight to your table while sitting above a conveyor belt of items that you can add to your broth whenever you'd like, such as vegetables, seafood, and noodles. The quality of food was great. My personal favorite was the ribeye.I definitely will be backKid-friendliness: Very welcoming to both of my children ages 2 and 3MO.

I am so glad we finally have a hot pot place in Modesto! This place is AMAZING. Very clean and spacious. Great broth and meat selections. Even better side options on a rotating conveyor belt. The sauce station is awesome. Will definitely be returning.

Grand opening on Saturday! Host and server's all very kind. Normally, for all you can eat hotpot, we have to go to the SF Bay Area. My daughter and I can for an early dinner and were seated quickly. The menu and service were explained to us. Love the fresh ingredients and plentiful meat. Sauce bar was good, too. I'm excited to go again when the rest of the family visits.

Places is great.. service is outstanding.. took my fiancé here when she got back into town about a week after the grand opening.. We probably been here a half a dozen times since and she's probably been here another five or six times to have lunch meetings.. so glad Modesto has a hot pot.. and also so glad of how good this place is.. Definitely the go to place when friends come to town..

My 6-year old sons review: its 100/10 and they have a cool trainMy personal review: I would 100% come back, I got the Hawaiian curry pot and can say that itself was super yummy, didn't put too much stuff inside the pot with my 6 year old being with me. However for what we did have it was really good and even my son tried some new things and enjoyed all of it. Staff was very friendly and super efficient! Can't wait to come back and bring some friends.
