We tried it once, don't need to go back. The crawfish etouffee was satisfactory. The service was terrible, we were completely ignored/forgotten about. I don't know who decided on the restaurant decor but it looks tacky, like we stepped into the party store (to put it bluntly). There was a loud party or band or something going on so we couldn't even hear each other talk. I don't understand why that was IN the restaurant so close to people eating. I'd rather fly to New Orleans.

They offer a great range of fresh food. I like eating here. Employees are always nice, pricing is convenient and the place is always neat.

Really awesome place. Being from Louisiana myself I found it to be very authentic, great atmosphere and food was delicious. I will be a repeat customer for life. Wanting on Covid-19 to lift - ready to go back and eat some frog legs and gator ? bites.

I will one day learn my lesson when it comes to Louisiana type restaurants outside of Louisiana. This time I couldn't resist since this place is in my town. A friend of mine came here when they first opened and she raved about the food. She loved it that much, and said the drinks were even better, so I thought I would give The Bayou Bar and Grill a try. First off, this place the decor is a cheap display of Louisiana. The offensive "Mardi Gras" decor around is just tacky it does not remind me of Louisiana at all. I've been enough times to know (where my family is from also) I did not get the essence that I was walking down Bourbon or Royal St in the middle of the French Quarter. Onto the appetizers. We ordered four of the appetizers. Chicken wings, don't remember the flavor we picked, the waitress advised they were extremely spicy, they were OK. Weren't terrible. Macaroni and cheese, was hands down the worst thing that we ordered. All it was, is noodles, milk and cheese. There was no salt, no pepper, it wasn't melted and oddly enough when it was placed on the table it was cold, honestly COLD COLD. I used my spoon to show the consistency of the "roux" it was STRAIGHT MILK. It was gross, very gross. Jalapeno poppers, or whatever wrapped in bacon. The jalapenos were way too overcooked. The bacon was BURNT to a crisp, I hit the bacon with the side of my fork it was HARD, clearly shows in the picture, we didn't even bother to eat these, so I can't tell you how they tasted completely because they sat on our table. Crab cakes, my Mother said they were fine, she said they needed a lot of salt. I cannot comment on these from my point of view, because of allergies, I was unable to eat them. I ordered the Blue Bayou Burger, and I got the mix of French fries and sweet potato fries. And hands down my favorite part of our entire meal were the fries. They were cooked to PERFECTION some were crunchy, some were soft, it was the perfect combination. They were so frigging good, I ate all of them. The burger was just OK, nothing special at all. My Mother had the Seafood File Gumbo, it was not good to her either. She put a lot of salt on it to make it edible. But she did love the cornbread, said it was very good. As bad as the food was, I didn't want to but I had to try the beignets. And not to my surprise at all, they were horrible. A real beignet has a distinctive texture, that's what makes them well known. What they brought to our table was honestly bread that had been kneaded WAY too much, and it was tough. I have ate millions of beignets in my life, and this was not it. And the syrup that came with them was completely not necessary. It was far too sweet also. Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone, each time it's mentioned around me, I tell people it's not any good unless you go for the drinks strictly. Their drinks were very good, as well as their French fries, only thing a person who likes/loves/enjoys Creole Cuisine would tolerate here, would be the alcohol and the fries. Don't bother with the rest of the food.

I've been here mamy times ... most meals have been great. Specialty cocktails are well crafted, and they have a rotating selection of on-tap beers including Louisiana's Abita (Turbo Dog is a favorite). The food is usually great, ranging from oyster po'boys stuffed with juicy oysters to well-balanced shrimp etouffee. Other choices are usually fantastic as well, but the jambalaya tends to be a bit dry and rice heavy. If you catch their happy hour, with discounted drinks and appetizers, this place is an incredible bargain for the quality of the experience.

It had good vibes. They made a drink for the pub crawl. I would never drink that again

The best place we have eaten at in Modesto, hands down. This is my second time here and it did not disappoint. Mike is the nicest guy ever and super helpful. We have gone down the menu and sampled quite a bit. Nothing was to be second guessed. The wings and all sauces are outstanding!!!! The ribs... well, come hungry. The Nashville chicken? Hell yes! I am telling you, go try it out for yourself. Do t listen to any negative or subpar reviews. Mike it the guy and the Bayou is the place!

Great atmosphere for a chill vibe. Their wings are so good! They have karaoke on the weekends which is something I enjoy as well. If you want to just grab drinks with friends this is the place.
