Overall everything was great. I did notice that one chef was using his phone with gloves he was making food with. Was waiting to see if he’ll change gloves once he was done but went straight back to making food after. We use phones everywhere and they’re very dirty. :/

Small and homey, japanese comfort foods and sushi. Good selection of rolls and noodles. Simplified menu.

Well this is my first time eating here so everything I say is preliminary.Taste - we had tempura shrimp, edamame, gangsta roll and a spicy chicken teriyaki bowl. The tempura shrimp had great flavor and I liked the panko that was on it but the sauce not so much. The edamame was hot and I liked the rock salt on top, just wish it was mixed in a bowl while evenly seasoning it with the salt before plating. The gangsta roll was decent but the sauces were confusing the flavor and it tasted like a rice candy with a touch of crab flavor at the end. I loved the fact that the chicken was actually grilled, you can taste the fire char and the rice was good too. The veggies on top of the bowl were perfectly crunchy and cooked.Customer Service - the service here wasn’t present as much as I thought it’d be, they did seem a bit busy though. We were never asked if we were doing ok or needed anything else. Food came out in decent time and the lighting was a bit dark.Price - for 3 tempura shrimp it was $9. Each shrimp is $3 a bit overpriced. If you’d like to serve the shrimp, I’d recommend 3 for $7 and 5 for $10. The edamame was average price for the amount but honestly it was a lot of food for an appetizer. You can save money and food waste if you give two options for edamame, a single and a share option, try and do that, trust me it will work for the best. The roll was priced like any other sushi place, not much to say. The spicy chicken teriyaki was the best priced for the quantity. I wasn’t able to finish it and it had a lot of rice as well.In conclusion, I’d like to try this place again knowing what I know now. I hope owner/management looks into what I said and I think this place has potential. Cheers!

This place is either hit or miss. When the food is good its GOOD. Then there are days when I question, what happened today? Inside can be pretty busy. Sometimes the waiters are attentive and some days... well refer to my first impression. Sitting outside is a little uncomfortable on the chairs they have out there, and with the trash cans out there ? but if you're not too close to the trash cans the heating lamps are a nice touch. I prefer inside. On their good days, love the baked salmon rolls, MTC rolls, and the off menu tempura fried philly rolls. I'm not a big raw fish person. Tempura shrimp and veggies are yum! The Chicken teriyaki bento box is a fav and of course the miso soup and edamame are a must. Someone in my party always loves getting the shishito peppers. And another member in our party loves the regular Philadelphia rolls. Overall we always go back for a reason! ?

Terrible service and blames it on short staff. The interesting thing is I told them and the server starts yelling at me out the top of her lungs. Then changed it to I was being rude. This WOKE generation is soft and just doesn't get it. Don't patronize when there other better sushi choices.

Have been coming here for years. Loved the atmosphere, food and service. Not sure what has happened; change of ownership? Food was still good; service HORRIBLE. Customer service is disappointing. If your reason for bad service is because you are short staffed maybe you should limit the amount of customers you are trying to service instead of making excuses for the bad non-service.

I haven't been here in a very long since I have moved. I was craving for Japanese food and wanted to come here to meet up with my friend. I decided to order edamame and chicken teriyaki bento box that came with California roll, shrimp tempura, vegetable tempura, salad, rice, and miso soup. I was so hungry I even forgot to take a pic of the food and was only able to get the aftermath. Haha The food was delicious and would definitely come here again. The prices were still reasonable and looked about the same from when I came a long time ago. The atmosphere is still very nice inside. The staff are friendly, however, the server wasn't as attentive because I finished my water with lemon and the server didn't even try to check if I wanted more water or not. Also, the plates that was finished wasn't even removed from the table so the table still felt very crowded. Other than that, the food was good. There is plenty of parking since it's where Montebello mall is at.
