Last minute search for a breakfast/brunch type spot and found Marin Cafe. It's located in an area off of Rosmead that shares a small parking lot with Zapien's Salsa Grill. It is a small lot but there's parking on the other side. I went while it was raining in the morning around 9 so it was pretty empty. The cafe is a small shop with 3 four-seater tables so not good for huge groups. But the decor was really cute and cozy. A mix of cafe and small bakery. Love the painted walls with the cake and bakery items painted on. There was a large display case of various bakery good from conchas, to croissants, to cakes and cake slices. Everything looked so good. Brisa (I hope I didn't spell her name incorrectly, apologies!) was our barista and she was lovely. Very friendly and let us take our time, she answered my bf's questions about the food. We chatted here and there and then placed our orders with her. She kept us updated on our food as they made the wrong sandwich for me and needed to remake it which was no problem and appreciated. The food was delicious! We ordered a concha, with an Abuelita hot latte, a mocha hot latte, breakfast burrito and breakfast sandwich. Recommend the Abuelita hot latte for sure, perfect on a rainy cold day. The chocolatey spice from the Abuelita was so good with the espresso, the mocha was great as well great blend of chocolate and coffee. Now the breakfast sandwich was bomb, presentation and taste were great. Eggs were hot and fluffy, bacon crispy, with ham, and refreshing tomato avocado and lettuce with a honey mustard type sauce. It also came with a side of potato salad, pickles and banana peppers. The potato salad is EXACTLY how I like it, not mayonnaise-y and sweet. Brekfast burrito was nice and filling too, bf said he'd definitely add bacon next time as mine was crispy in my sandwich hash browns were crispy and the creamy lime cilantro sauce was so good with it. I also ordered a slice of the mocha tres leches cake...so good not overly sweet and mocha wasn't too strong. The cake was overly saturated with milk which I would've like but it had the right amount of moistness so not to make it soggy. All in all definitely reccomend this little gem of a cafe. Owners and staff are all friendly and the food and drinknwere fantastic. Definitely coming back for more cake!

Y'all, the food is great! I came for breakfast, had a breakfast burrito and champurrado, EXCELLENT. Staff was down to earth. It has a familiar, hole in the wall, cozy feel inside. Nothing fancy but a nice place to be. Can't wait to try pastries next time!

Marin Cafe is an absolute gem! From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by two fantastic and attentive employees who truly made my experience great. Their recommendation of the bolillo bread was spot on - fresh out of the oven, these toasty delights were a perfect blend of crispy exterior and pillowy softness inside. And let's talk about that green sauce! Creamy with a punch of cilantro, it elevated every bite to a whole new level of deliciousness. As for the breakfast options, I indulged in both the breakfast burrito and the egg muffin with ham, and each bite was a delightful and fresh. And can we talk about the Americano? It was a true standout - rich, robust, and satisfying. My friend opted for the champurrado, and she couldn't stop raving about its deliciousness and even burned her tongue because she kept trying to drink it when it wasn't ready! She said, "Worth it!" Clearly, Marin Cafe knows how to impress with both their food and drinks. The location itself, in a small shopping center, which adds to the cozy charm of this cafe. The decor is adorable and minimalist, with a coffee lover's wallpaper that sets the perfect ambiance for a relaxed dining experience. Overall, Marin Cafe has won me over with its service, their food offerings, and scrumptious coffee. I'll definitely be making a return trip - after all, I can't resist the allure of that freshly baked bolillo bread!

One thing made me go there: tres leches cake. My baby was even drooling when he looked into the cake display. They have mocha tres leches, strawberry tres leches, blueberry tres leches, and more! We also couldn't resist getting their $5 deal on six of their cheese and guava cheese pastries. We opted for half and half so we were able to get three of each to try. I saw many reviews remark how the rolls remind them of Porto's and I can agree. I think these have their own spin as the pastry is crispy and buttery with a different amount of filling that is very pleasing to the tongue. The sugar sprinkled on top is generous so I feel they're sweeter than the ones at Porto's--at least when it comes to the guava pastry. The guava paste filling is stronger and very fragrant as well--so I can see guava lovers preferring this. I was greeted promptly and was pleased to see patrons were able to sit in there. They have two small tables by the window, nice music, bright inviting lights, and good music. The only thing I wished was when I asked for a happy birthday message to be written was that I was asked for a name to write down. The server took the cake back right away and quickly scrawled an expert chocolate 'Happy Birthday!' on it though. I forgot to get a picture of just the cake but guaranteed it was very cute and pretty with yummy clean and unglazed fruits on top (which we prefer). I didn't wait long and everything was delicious!

I was working out this way today and as I was driving home, I wanted to stop and get something to eat. Instead of getting typical fast food, I came across this café. Let me tell you! It's a small place, but has such a cute ambience. I ordered the Pesto Panini with turkey, which also came with a side of potato salad. The sandwich was great but that potato salad was the best potato salad I ever had, and I am not a fan of potato salad usually! I also ordered a cheese and guava pastry (which I ate as I was waiting for my sandwich). Super delicious! They also have champurrado (which is seasonal) so I decided to try it as well and it was definitely satisfying. Overall taste was amazing and service was inviting and friendly. Would highly recommend! I would have posted a picture of my items...but I ate them before I wrote this review...lol.

Was in the area and wanted to try a local coffee shop. Marin cafe did not disappoint! I ordered a champurrado with three shots of espresso and as I waited for my coffee saw a guava and cheese pastry so I had to try, they were delicious!! The person who took my order was very kind and the coffee was also very good. Highly recommend.

"I ordered a cake Cost me $100 and it looked like a five year old could make it. I tried to contact the owner he didn't do anything . Never coming back to this place ever again"

A cute coffee and pastry shop with great service, came by for a cup of coffee and ended up ordering their waffles and tuna sandwich. The lady at the counter recommended their horchata coffee and chocolate abuelita, I'll say their chocolate abuelita was fantastic. The horchata coffee needed a bit more flavor. The French toast were fluffy and tasty I would recommend trying them. Many folks were coming in to pick up care orders, so next time I come I'll give it a try. Parking is a. Bit challenging as it's shared with several other businesses.

I was searching around Yelp for a new coffee shop since I was getting bored of the usual Starbucks or coffee bean coffee. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this place! It's located in a little plaza which doesn't seem too busy during the week but during the weekend, it does tend to get packed due to the restaurant next door but there's still plenty of parking. I always drive by this plaza but never noticed this coffee shop until I came across it on Yelp, Customer service alone is a 10/10. I ordered an iced vanilla latte with oatmilk and let me tell you, it beats Starbucks any day. It was so creamy , I wish I had gotten a bigger size. I also ordered a breakfast burrito for my husband, who said was a good 8/10 and was portioned well, and an English turkey and egg muffin, which beats McDonald's egg McMuffin. Everything is made fresh, so you do have to wait a few min, which I will gladly wait for the quality. I enjoyed my experience so much I went the very next day as well. I again ordered a vanilla iced coffee with oatmilk but a larger size this time lol and decided to try the breakfast sandwich, which WOW. It was so delicious! The portion was great and tasted fresh. I don't live far from here so this place has definitely become my new favorite coffee shop. I would definitely give it a try.

Somehow the best coffee I've ever had, every time! I'm not even sure what flavoring or espresso they use to make their drinks but it's something I'm chasing at every other coffee shop. Their sandwiches are also delicious :D family owned, everyone is great to chat with. I wish I could come here more often.
