I asked for a burrito de langua and got pork butt.They give a lot of meat which would normally be good but it was unseasoned and greasy, obviously it's pork butt. Barely had any beans and rice, but was also unseasoned. I couldn't even finish half of it before feeling sick.Staff was nice though.

I went yesterday at 3pm when it said it was open online (open sign was even on) and it was deserted and locked up with tons of mail stuffed in the door handle and scattered on the ground. Drove a long way to try it too!

Best best carnitas in town. These are my absolute favorites. They even came out in a food Netflix series so you know they are good. They can have long lines at times and they run out so you defiantly want to stop by early. Their service is amazing and they even provide a tester taco while you wait sometimes. This is their sample. I love it here and have been coming for years.

Carnitas Torta from the heavens. Best damn torta I've had in the whole state. Great texture, still moist and just melts in your mouth. Delicious.

Dropped by for a weekday lunch taco because I had read so many good things. I was not disappointed. Cook handed out some free "burnt ends" tacos for a few of us to try and those had tons of flavor. The carnitas tacos I ordered were stuffed with tons of tasty meat and were complimented by the salsa and onions+cilantro provided and might even had been better with the picked pepper and veggies which I did not try. Very good. I will be back

Was craving Carnitas El Momo because it’s almost a year and I was in the area but was bummed to find out they’re closed on Sunday. I was then pleasantly surprised to find out they had recently opened a restaurant opened on Sundays since the last time I visited the location on Fairmount St, so stopped by and grabbed a pound of carnitas to take home. Unfortunately was deeply disappointed these were no where the same as the award winning carnitas I’ve had at the truck in front of their house on Fairmount. Instead of the flavorful melt in your mouth carnitas I’ve had, these were bland, dry, more cubed and harder to chew and more expensive. Not sure if the carnitas here are made at the restaurant instead of how they’re normally made at home or maybe this was a rush batch. Will continue to go to the original location next time I’m in the area again and will continue to support this family business.

I've been to Carnitas El Momo in the Boyle Heights location in 2019. At the time I had 4 tacos from this restaurant. Mind you, this place only serves pork tacos. I came today and ordered 4 tacos and I couldn't finish them. At most I finished 2 and 1/2 tacos. It was sort of a waste of money because each taco was $4. Either this place packs in more food per taco than they did before, or my appetite is getting smaller. Anywhoo, these are the best pork tacos in southern California. My highest recommendation.
