I really enjoyed my dinner here as a 1st timer. Food were made to order. Very fresh, wholesome ingredients. The services were very good and the waiters were all very attentive and kind. The interior were clean and there are alot of private room section off on one side. What I really like is to witness all the staff singing happy birthday to a party in English and in Chinese. That was very sweet.

This is my go to Chinese food. Family style dishes. Good Cantonese style food, comforting and delicious. Local place with regulars but still nice for a family dinner and get togethers.

Food is Salty, oily, and Overcharge for its price. Since we didn't like the food we didn't give any tip. This guy gave us an attitude for not giving a tip. He is the rudest person i have ever met. We left all the food that we paid for $132. Do not waste your time in this restaurant.

My party had reservations for a private room, and were told we would have to spend at least $350 to be in there. From the moment I walked in, the host did not seem like he was in a good mood. He checked us in and just pointed at a general direction of the room and told us to go. My party ordered a variety of different dishes, such as Green Beans, Pecking Duck, Walnut Shrimps, Pork Belly, Deep Fried Chicken, etc. They food was just decent, and some dishes were better than others. I did not think it was anything special. My favorite dish was the Green Beans. The staff were difficult to flag down sometimes, but we're overall attentive. Near the end of our meal, we were told that we have to finish our food very fast as their next reservation was already there. I honestly have never felt so rushed to eat. Overall, the experience was just okay.

I had seen an increase in activity after the former New Lucky became Taste of MP for Cantonese style food so I decided to try it with my out-of-town guests. Because I had elderly in my group that didn't want to eat out, I placed a to-go order in person at the restaurant. While I waited for my order, I noticed the restaurant had been recently remodeled and not extremely large. They had installed private side dining rooms that narrowed and decreased the main dining area. My large order didn't take too long, maybe 15-20 minutes, but is was still early in the evening before any primetime rush. The food is authentic Cantonese and very good. Every dish was absolutely delicious. The diced filet mignon was so tender and flavorful. The seafood and tofu hot pot was well prepared. The salt and pepper pork chop was tasty. Even the eggplant and salted fish was so yummy. I don't think there was any one dish that was any better than another which was a sign of a great head chef and team.I highly recommend Taste of MP as an excellent alternative to the remaining few and more popular true Cantonese restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley. I look forward to the opportunity to dine in at Taste of MP to add their service component as part of the dinner experience.

Came back here when they decided to remodel and rename the place. OG Monterey Park people will remember it as New Lucky but at last, change. To my surprise it's honestly better then what it was. I would highly recommend the black pepper beef and the any of the fresh seafood. I could have a personal bias but I ate here pretty much my whole life but I would at least say give it a try. I assure you won't be disappointed. The only critique for this restaurant for me is service. Sometimes waiters are extremely fast to serve you and other times not. I'd like to consider my family a regular but even as regulars service is pretty slow. Other then that I think the food here is amazing and delicious!

The lunch special is until 5:00 PM here at Taste of MP!! So we decided to come here and enjoy a meal after an event. Located in the city of Monterey Park this place had people there. We arrived at 4:30 PM to order the lunch menu and decided to get a few meaty dishes. Some chicken, duck, pork, crispy noodles, shrimp & egg, and even a seafood soup. We ordered a lot but there were plenty of dishes left that we wanted to also order. But for sure it was not going to happen. Until next time I would say we are for sure coming back here. The food was amazingly authentic. Everything tasted perfectly cooked and the price is reasonable! The staff is also super friendly and nice. So glad we tried this spot and I will be back!!

Well I'm eating at this taste of Monterey Park again I think it's my second or third time, today is November 29th and we had lunch here around 12:30 and they were still a lot of people. Today we ordered steam fish tilapia, and Chinese broccoli with salted fish, and the eggplant vegetable, and spicy pork chop with salt and jalapeno. So far all over orders was great. The only thing is when you order steam fish it takes about 20 to 30 minutes to get your food so if you're planning on getting steamed fish planning on staying a little longer. I will be back again sometime in the first or second week of January. If you've not tried here yet go for it you won't be disappointed, and the waiters and waitresses are pretty friendly.

A group of six of us decided to try Taste of MP after playing some pickleball at nearby Barnes Park. We had to wait quite a bit to be seated despite the fact that the waiter told us it would be "just a few minutes." Once we were seated, we had to flag a waiter down in order to place our order. Once our order was placed, the waiter quickly brought pickled cucumbers and salted peanuts to our table to try to satisfy our hungry appetites. The six of us ordered six dishes which was plenty of food. The kung pao chicken was excellent as were the green beans with minced pork. We also truly enjoyed the garlic eggplant which was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The chicken chow fun was okay, but nothing special as were the spicy pork chops. All in all, the food was good and the portions were plentiful. At the end of our meal, we were brought a huge complimentary bowl of red bean soup (dessert) which was the perfect way to end a delicious meal.

This is the best Chinese Food in Los Angeles. Highly recommend all the seafood dishes. House Specialties are always fresh and delicious. Fast and friendly service makes them different from the rest!!! Must Try. I ate the food soon as it arrived and forgot to take pictures!

The service is great as usual. Food has an authentic taste and serving sizes are good for family style dining. Would suggest to get to know your server to get you their take and recommendations. Their soft tofu dish is so good. Just a tip: The back door is almost open all the time and smoke from smokers get in which is nauseating. Sit at the front or in a room.

I visited this restaurant for the first time for a friend's wedding and everything we had was delicious! I ended up going back the following week for takeout and the place seemed pretty popular. We ordered a bunch of things and everything hit the spot. The portions were generous and the menu is huge so I'm sure you'll find something you like. This is definitely going to be a new favorite for my family! I didn't take any pictures of my second visit but here's some photos from the wedding dinner.

This place is a very authentic and traditional Cantonese cuisine restaurant. House special crabs and the stir fried are good:)
