This is for their new Pasadena location since they don’t have it listed on here yet! It was a donut kinda day and this place came highly recommended so I had to try it since I was just next door at the camera shop! The shop has some fun retro decor and is super easy to find. Parking is either on the street or in their lot in the back of their building (shared with other stores). I had no issues finding street parking though. The shop was inviting and the staff were so friendly and helpful! All their donuts are on display so that makes it easy to pick! I’m not a huge huge fan of mochi so I stuck to the regular donuts. I was definitely intrigued by the Earl Grey donut - very unique so had to get one of those! We also tried the Taro filled, Homer Vanilla and the Cinnamon Sugar. The Earl Grey was the clear winner here! The donut was light and fluffy and the filling was so delicately flavored - it was just awesome! Highly recommend if you’re a fan of the tea itself. The Cinnamon Sugar was my second fave - no filling and just a simple donut - very decent. The Taro was ok if you like that flavor - the same fluffy donut texture and the cream filling is definitely yummy. The Homer Vanilla had a strange flavor to me - I found it to actually have some salty bits in it so that was weird for me. And there was so much goopy vanilla cream that it was just overwhelming. I’ll probably skip that one in the future. The prices are kinda high for a donut shop...the donuts are definitely good but expensive imo. Still - I’d come back to try more flavors!

My family is from Hunan, the food is known to be savory, spicy, fragrant and pairs extremely well with rice. The cuisine uses a diversity of ingredients like cured meats, dried/pickled vegetables, stewed/braised meats so the flavors never get repetitive or one dimensional (unlike Sichuan cuisine sometimes). We've eaten here a handful of times already and every time the food has been cooked to perfection and remains consistent. My dad often speaks to the head chef, he prides himself in delivering quality dishes. A few dishes we always get here are: beer duck, thousand year egg with pepper (ugly delicious), whole spicy fish, cumin lamb, and steamed pig hooves. Everything is delicious here and you'll be eating a lot of rice b/c the food is so savory!

Medium. So disappointing. The kidneys weren't fresh. The flavors were not exciting. The kitchen was arguing so loudly you could hear it in the dining room. The shop was EMPTY on a Saturday night.

The typical Northern Chinese cuisines. We ordered the sliced beef in hot chili oil and the spicy pork ribs. The level of spiciness is adequate. The services are pretty normal. Parking is widely available considering the restaurant is located in the main eating strip of Alhambra.
