Connor was the best host and couldn't be a greater guide to the wine. Came back with a few bottles that truly blew our mind.

I visited this establishment during my weekly sojourn to the Monterey Farmers Marketplace...I walked in to this beautifully designed tasting room with white quartz counter tops...the gentleman who was pouring the wine was quite knowledgeable and friendly...the wine was incredible especially the pinot noir...I joined the wine club on the spot...over the weekend...I headed to their Carmel Valley tasting room with a friend.. again...incredible hospitality was extended to us by Lyle...and the same incredible wine was enjoyed...they have several other wines to choose from...but I save myself for the several pinots from different years. What a truly memorable experience...p.s. I understand that they also have a tasting room in Carmel by the Sea...so there is no excuse not to visit...in vino veritas!

Have had an excellent time at all three locations (Carmel valley, by the sea, and monterey)!! The staff at Albatross Ridge always provide impeccable service and the wine is fantastic! Huge shoutout to Connor and the staff here for providing an awesome place to enjoy a glass of wine.

Camille is the most fabulous wine lady. We had a beautiful time and enjoyed everything.

Albatross Ridge is the reason I fell in love with Burgundy style Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. If you’re staying downtown, this new location is a must-see. We never come to Monterey without visiting one of their tasting rooms ?

We had a wonderful experience at Albatross Ridge. This tasting room is a new addition to the Albatross Ridge family and a great addition to Monterey. It is great to see more wine tasting rooms and breweries in the area.Beyond a wine tasting room, it is also a kitchen with Tapas sized plates. The food was great. We had the ribs, steak bites, salad, and a wonderful flatbread. The space is both indoors and outdoors offering a good amount of seating, but I would recommend reservations in a larger group or going flouring a peak time. The location is kid friendly.

Wineries/wine tastings in CA are a whole another level. That's what I'd humbly say about it even though as much as I appreciate what my home state of CO can offer, during my short stay in the Monterey/Carmel area gave me a deep insight as to what CA can boast about. This wine tasting place is located in the heart of downtown Carmel, its spacious, open feel speaks itself as to how great of a place it is. And of course, it's not just the ambiance, the qualities of the wines they have on the menu simply leave you speechless. Jacob, who was at the bar, walked us through the menu as well as the winery's history. He appeared no more than 30-35 but his expertise in the whole wine making is/was impeccably top notch. I've been an avid wine drinker for many years but after speaking to him, I realized how entry level my knowledge about wine was! I'm not going to lie though; their wine bottles are/were quite expensive so I didn't buy any of them but yesterday's tasting experience was all about the opportunity to learn about one of the best wineries in CA. Next time I am in town again, I'll do anything to make myself available to stop there for the very same flight I did yesterday.

Great wine, great service, and very knowledgeable about the wine, just wish they had a few more food choices.

We really liked Albatross and came back twice during our day trip. The wines are solid (not high end Napa quality, so measure your expectations) but good to try a local winery. A nice area to sit outside, and plenty of things close by. We picked up a couple of bottles to take home as a memento.

Just realized I posted this in the wrong place. We actually went to the downtown tasting room. This review is for that spot.Stopped by here last weekend on our first trip to Carmel. The ladies that helped us out were very friendly. Most of the wines from this region tend to be a little light for our taste as the weather doesn't really get warm enough to grow the Rhone varietals that we really like. But we did really enjoy the First Flight Pinot Noir. Pinot's are usually not flavorful enough for us but this one was nice and jammy and full of dark fruit. I wouldn't pay $135 for a bottle though. All in all we had a good experience at Albatross Ridge but nothing really spoke to us enought to buy.

To start, this location is about 6 months old for this downtown location. It's clean and modern. I walked in around 5 and was greeted by the person working and seated. Prices are a little high for tastings seeing these are wines from Santa Lucia Mountains. Wines were fair but the server looked drunk... not sure if she had been tasting with the previous patrons, but it ruined the experience. She was relieved from work by a new worker and she was delightful and nice. Note they are looking for a new chef and I have hopes for this place, but they are new and it shows.

My husband and I had a fantastic time at the new Albatross location! We've frequently walked past the Carmel location but never had a chance to try it out. Camille was very welcoming and took her time to explain each tasting. As more guests walked in, she continued to stay attentive toward us despite being the only one working. We're looking forward to the next time we can visit!

Yum... overlook the spotlights & glare (just wear sunglasses at night) because the wine is delicious. The ambiance can be fixed -- dim the lights & use some dark tones to offset all the white / light colors. Add some flowers or live plants to help us feel comfortable. When we're comfy, we want to stay. When we stay, we spend more money. The chocolates are basic (from See's ??). These could be upgraded by choosing a local source. We love our local products!!Don't change the wine! It's perfect. The Chardonnay is my fave and Chardonnay is NEVER on my list of wines to imbibe!! The menu is nice for a small winery. I'm looking forward to a return visit. We've lost so many businesses in your space, so enhance the space & improve the food pairings & you'll be ready to compete with the other wine rooms on Alvarado Street.
