Had reservations for 2 at 9pm. Drove 30 minutes. Showed up at 9pm. Was told the kitchen closed early because it was a “slow night”, got refused our reservation and wasted our time. Why not call or email us to ahead of time at minimum? Big bummer.

The restaurant was beautiful on the inside and quite lively for a Friday night. Our drinks were delicious - I had the poblano margarita and my girlfriend had the mirror margarita. Tasty enough we asked for a second round. For food, the ahi tuna appetizer was great and my girlfriend really enjoyed her pescado tacos, however, I was really disappointed in the birria bone marrow tacos. The pulled pork was great, but the bone marrow was incredibly lacking. I had sent back the first bone and after receiving the second and being disappointed again, the waiter argued with me that other customers were fine with theirs and the problem was with me. There was enough marrow for ONE taco at best - my photo shows how much was there (the little glob of pink on the furthest taco). So for anyone that is a fan of bone marrow, I would advise avoiding these tacos and ordering something else.Vegetarian options: There are two or three vegetarian options. Better selection for pescatarians.

Best Mexican food I have had in Monterey. The place was packed on a Thursday evening. The queso and tortillas were excellent. Margaritas the bomb. Hope the restaurant is still there when I come back to Monterey next year.
Had a reservation for 2 at 8. Checked in at 7:50. We reserved 2 seats at the bar. They didn't sit us there even though we asked them to. They said there was no room but clearly there was 3 seats open. To top it off they didn't seat us until 8:20.The food... Well it was bland. I ordered the carne asada with nopales. It arrived cold.I ordered the fondue. That was delicious. Also ordered a few mixed drinks. They were good.I did not recieve any authentic Mexican food. Lacking in flavor and passion.So much potential too bad it's very Americanized

The place looks amazing and the decor is super nice. The food however was not good at all. They use too much lemon and salt. Their side salad literally tasted like greens with a spoon full of salt. The mash potatoes taste like they are made out of a box and the chicken was super salty. It is literally the worst food experience I have had. I would not recommend this place if you are looking for a delicious meal.
