A very nice shop with friendly staff, very good specialties coffee (had two flat white)and a really tasty croissant (Sammys Croissant) with egg, avocado, cheese and ham. 100% recommended. Really nice place.

It’s fun to have a location close to my office that I can be healthy with avocado toast or sinful with their cinnamon sugar toast. My clients surprised me with breakfast today! So grateful ❤️

Large, yummy lattes - spacious, open seating. Be sure to come hungry as the menu has a range of sweet and healthy options. Super friendly staff, dog friendly... free treats by the napkins for pups.

Very cool cafe right up the street from the Wharf, and the mocha I had was delicious. Would definitely go back.

Fairly quick service considering the line on a weekday morning. Great desserts and coffee! Super cute place, on the smaller side. On the pricier side.Vegetarian options: All drinks are vegetarian, can be vegan with milk substitutes. Pastries also all vegetarian, just some food options with meat.Parking: 2 hours street parking on the street, paid parking lot next to it too.
Love this place! Great coffee, and yummy avocado toast. Friendly staff, quick service and healthy short menu. Sit at the long natural wood shared tables. BTW a huge coffee grinder in the shop is fun to see. Open to the outside so you can sit outside in good weather. Hilarious the famous tandem bike that the shop kept outside - the thief was caught on video stealing - showed up dumped and returned, likely due to being all over the news! Lol.

Came in on Sunday, wasn’t too busy. Ordered 2 drinks. Espresso shots were sour. Didn’t satisfy my coffee needs. Ordered an additional shot thinking it would be different but still the same result..

Pastries are ENORMOUS (they look fantastic). but the coffees are TINY. lol. For a drip coffee, way too expensive for my budget. Why does “3rd Wave” have to mean, “Hey, let’s make it even more expensive than Starbucks!”

I visited Captain & Stroke Coffee yesterday with my wife. I love buying local roasters' coffee wherever I travel, and if I like it, I subscribe to their coffee. We had a pretty good pour-over, a Guatemala and an Ethiopia coffee, both single-origin light roasts. The tastes were good, except I wasn’t sure the Ethiopia was exactly light roasted, due to the texture and balance. I specifically asked at the register for a bag of Brazilian coffee named Cold Soul, inquiring if it was light roast and was told it absolutely was.Today, I opened the bag and was upset by what I found inside. It’s medium-roasted, which is still okay, but there are burnt beans. Even though I tried to remove burnt beans and make pour over. I still can taste burnt taste. What a disappointment! You can check the photos I uploaded, compared to SEY's light roast.Overall, my advice would be it's an amazing coffee shop around Monterey Bay, but I don’t recommend buying their bags of coffee with these burnt beans.Update!!!Last 2 photos contains burnt beans. Please check closely.
