Permanently closed as of November 23rd according to the notice on the door. Thats too bad it was a great place to eat.

Went here on my way to the aquarium. Very tasty and good value for the money. For $13 I got a lunch that was overflowing with fresh fish rice and toppings. I normally eat a lot and I couldn't even finish. Highly recommended as a good budget option if you're in Monterey.

My experience here wasn't good. When I got the food, it smelled very fishy; I investigated and figured out it was the crab salad that had pretty strong smell. I found a piece of plastic wrap in my food! (Photo attached) The fish wasn't fresh, it didn't smell bad but didn't taste good either

Save your money and hit up Poke House in Marina! They have wayyy better sauces, very clean (no flies there), fish is honestly always on point! It's a family run business they're very kind and you can tell they care about the quality of their food and service. Ask for Tyler there. As far as poke time it was a huge disappointment we've literally waited MONTHS to try it cause they were always closed or we missed the open times so the photos hyped me up but there's no flavor in the food. The people are really nice so no knock to them but food is no bueno.

So to start I eat poke all the time, usually in Marina but today I decided to grab some in Monterey and this location was closest to me…. WELL.. I wish I would’ve passed on it.. I should’ve known cause there was no one else in there. But selection was standard (missing a few things) taste was okay lack of sauces and toppings I’ll stick to Marina. My major issue tho is that my stomach has been screwed ever since I ate here. I’m literally going to the Doctor cause it’s been 6 days of upset stomach.. I think I may have gotten some form of bacteria or something from eating here. Sooo yea..

Use to be my favorite place to eat. The employees are all very nice and I like their selection, but they skimp on the rice (Large says 4 scoops of sushi rice and they give 2 small ones and smash/spread it) and are not careful about cross contamination. If you have allergies to any of the ingredients I would be very careful dining here. I am allergic to corn and a number of other things and while making my bowl, more than once, they added the wrong ingredients or (WORSE) while making both my husband and my bowl at the same time, they dropped things out of his mixing bowl and tossed it into my poke. I have had allergic reactions the last 2 times I've eaten here and unfortunately will not be risking it again. Cool prices and selection but very dangerous for anyone with food sensitivities/allergies. :(

The food was delicious, fresh, and the crew was helpful in helping us decide what to get.

I tried calling and messaging first, but with no answer, I'll write a review. I ate here and then came down with horrible food poisoning hours later, and was sick for three days. I remember thinking that the scoops of the spicy tuna were pretty small, and now I'm glad that's all I was given. It'll take me a while to ever have raw fish again, if ever, thanks to this place. Please beware before spending your money here.

agter An absence of three months, I returned to Poke Time. The employees are still very nice, but evidently they had been serving up too large of portions, and were told to significantly cut back. Or, the employee that served me just decided to serve extra small amounts. Everything was just super small (except the rice). i don't know whether I will return. They used to get it right! Now, it's heavy rice and very light toppings. hope it changes back!

Prepare to spend 16$ on rice and salad. The protein and side portions are weak.

The bowl options are amazing! The staff are professional and really friendly. Fresh ingredients all the time and this food just hits the spot! Light, yet filling.

Monterey doesn't really have many options for good poke. The fish here is okay, but the sushi rice isn't mixed or steamed well. You get chunks of lukewarm rice stuck together and not fluffy, good rice. I guess since I'm JA I'm used to better poke.
