The choice fell on this place because it's open all day and serves steak. The reviews of restaurant are very good, with a magnificent view of the ocean, and the service is above average - a good balance with mediocre food. It's worth trying once, but I'm unlikely to return. There are much tastier restaurants in Monterey.

Amazing. Just wow. This place was phenomenal. I don’t like fish. Especially salmon. But whenever I’m at beach towns, I always like to try and eat fish cause it’s good for you (health-wise) and when in Rome type of mentality. I have dietary restrictions so eating has been extremely difficult. I was able to have an incredible three course meal here dairy free and low fat. One of the best meals I’ve had. The salmon was fresh moist and so flavorful. And even better, they had REAL dairy free desserts - not just sorbet. We went to Chart House which had amazing chefs who treated us excellently (also highly recommend) but I have to say this is one of my top restaurants in California.Gabrielle was our server. Amazing top tier service. Thank you for making it a stressful enjoyable meal - it’s far and few between sometimes so we are extremely grateful.

I met up with my family at this place, which they had chosen. However, there were two large parties that evening, and the restaurant had no available seating. As a result, we ended up in the lobby. Despite the setback, I decided to order dessert-the “Chai Vanilla Brûlée.” It was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was lively and fun, with a talented pianist playing and singing great old tunes. It felt like being in a piano bar, and eventually, everyone singing along. We all had a fantastic time, and we’ll definitely be back to enjoy more good times here along with some good food.

Great experience at Schooners on the patio overlooking the water. Our waiter, Jacob, was very attentive and made great recommendations. Clam chowder in a bread bowl was excellent, Thai style curry mussels were delicious and the ceviche was good but not great. The fish tacos were tasty and the fried chicken sandwich was flavorful and unique. Would definitely dine there again.
