The sort of place you stumble upon, then wonder why everyone isn’t talking about it.The food was divine. A perfect mix of flavours and delicately executed. I especially recommend the Yellowtail Crudo to start, and the lemon olive oil cake to finish. You might struggle to park but there aren’t many better places to eat in Monterey than this!Parking: On site, around the back

What an amazing place. I would say top 5 restaurants in Monterey county. When it comes to their food, a very unique seasonal menu that gets updated every 3 months. With every seasonal menu we had nothing but an amazing experience. Eyes rolling, mouth watering exquisite journey type of an experience. Finally, a special thanks to the Chef for turning art into an amazing food and to Rachel for being the best waitress you can ever ask for. I can't recommend this place enough.

Overall 9/10Did a last minute reservation for 1, and the service was excellent. The ambiance was darker than I preferred leading to poor photography. The food was good, and the duck toast appetizer was the highlight.More @vin.foodjournal

Solid food, overall romantic, & nice staff.I tried looking for the perfect place for our anniversary. There are just so many to choose from in the Monterey/Pacific Grove/Carmel area. I settled with this one because it had the highest ratings, some history, & was consistently suggested by others online. We were satisfied with our choice. We started with the crispy potatoes. The flavour wasn’t over powerful & the sauce/cream it came with was perfect with it.I got the Wagyu steak. I wasnt extremely hungry & always wanted to try austrailian wagyu, so i was okay with a 7 oz steak. It was. Ore chewy than I thought it would be for a medium rare, but I understand why its only 7 oz. It was rich with flavour & I was satisfied with the amount I had.My wife got the mushroom pizza which was also really good. The dough was perfect & the asparagus topping was surprisingly good.Staff were all professional & actually read the notes we put in our online reservation because they all constantly said “happy anniversary” to us. That was a cool touch.Im glad we went here, maybe we’ll be back some day

What a really great spot in Monterey - for such a beautiful spot with great food I was surprised it wasn't more busy on a Friday night. From the people who were friendly and accommodating, the ambience and the quality of the food, this place is definitely on my list to go back to next time I'm in town.

The food and service was excellent! We were seated at a good size table next to the fire place which was wonderful. And, since it was our anniversary they brought out 2 glasses of champagne. We really enjoyed the dinner. We ordered the ribeye steak, pasta and the shaved broccoli salad. Everything was great.

We had a great dinner for my wife's birthday. The hostess, wait staff, and kitchen were all very attentive to my wife's food allergies and were very accommodating. Our server, Rachel, was excellent; she was friendly, professional, and even took some time to chat for a couple of minutes when she wasn't too busy. The food was amazing. We had duck liver mousse toast (to die for!), and Australian Wagyu bavette steak (cooked perfectly medium rare), and the panacotta with grapefruit slices, which were charred, for dessert. We were presented with tasting-size pours of sparkling wine for my wife's birthday when we sat down (we much preferred that instead of a complimentary dessert). Highly recommended!

Overall not overly impressed. Great service. We were seated at a table wedged between a doorway and a staircase... considering that we made reservations well in advance, this was sub par seating. Food was fine. Would not return.

The food is outstanding and served in a welcoming, comfortable environment. Rachel, our server, was professional, helpful, friendly, and always there when we needed her without being around when we didn't. We will return here again and again.

Overall, very good! First time here, and hope to be back soon! Started with two cocktails, starmap and evening fizzy fog (I believe was the name) Then steak tartare, overall good, personally wish the in-house chips were warm/salted. I had the Chicken dish very very delicious. Husband had the halibut.

Nice place, great food, small portions, pricey! Over $30 for Cacio e Pepe pasta (pasta, cheese, pepper are the only ingredients) was outrageous given the very meager portion served. Even the wine pours seemed smallish. We shared a salad, a pasta, an entree, and a dessert, each had a glass of wine. Just under $200. In my opinion, although very good, walked away thinking we don't need to go back because of the overall value.

Service was great. It's not a very big menu, but the items we had were all good. We were not very hungry so we mainly went with soup, salad, shared starter at our table. We didn't get a very good explanation about the size of the salads or soup. It all worked out, but I would have ordered differently with a better explanation of portion size. I didn't like having to make a $25/ per person reservation charge to reserve a table. I doubt I will go back because of it. One in our group had a migraine in that afternoon, but felt she had to join us due to the reservation charge. We also felt we couldn't reschedule for a night when she felt better for that same reason.
