Tarpy's service and food is consistently good. It's one of my wife's and my favorite restaurant in the Monterey area. It's essentially nice during the summer to have lunch on the patio dining area.

We love going to Tarpy's for lunch or dinner with the family or during business meals. The staff is always very friendly and attentive. I love the Salmon and my family really likes the meatloaf and chile-crusted chicken entrées.

Charming restaurant, beautiful setting, delicious food, friendly polite staff with attentive service that was just right. Enjoyed this older brick building - bring a sweater, a bit drafty. Highly recommend for lunch or special occasion.

Whenever we are in Monterey this is a must stop. We really enjoy the outside patio, it’s always a thrill when a jet landing at the nearby airport buzzes the parking lot.This time for lunch I had a fried chicken sandwich and my wife had fish and chips. We started out with calamari but there was a mixup with the timing and the plates came out before the app. The manager came out and said they would re-make the plates when we were ready rather than park them under a heat lamp. That was really a nice touch.
Magical restaurant environment, especially when cargo planes fly over and into the Monterey airport! Servers are very well trained and always are helpful when ordering. Sitting outside is a blast! Wonderful menus are often changed - still one of the nicest restaurants to enjoy in Monterey County.

Food was great. Service was stellar. From the moment we walked in we were pleasantly greeted by the hostess & our waiter couldn't have been any nicer or more spot on. The perfect place to go for our 25th wedding anniversary. I will definitely recommend Tarpy's Roadhouse to anyone asking.

I'm a very full and happy customer no matter when I come to Monterey,
The service was the only good thing. My husband ordered a well-done burger they served it less than rare. He took a bite, and it was bleeding everywhere, so he sent it back. Now, this is a little bit of an upscale restraunt. Mind you, they return his burger with a new bun, the same cold fries, and the same burger he ate off of. It was their mistake. I maybe understand the burger, but the fries, too? Lmao

A great place for family and friends, whether it's sunny or cold outside, really nice place with good vibes.
Incredibly slow service, and this during slow season and the restaurant was nowhere near full. We had a 6p reservation and didn't have food until 7:50 (and we didn't order appetizers, only a salad). I've loved Tarpy's for years, and I hope that tonight was an aberration, but if the service is this slow next time, we likely have to shift to other great restaurants in the area. Very disappointing tonight.

We have been going here for years. The service and atmosphere are fantastic. Sometimes it gets a little loud, but the outdoor seating is wonderful. The menu changed a little, but most of the food is still exceptional. The last time we went there, it was a very busy night and some of the food was cold or not cooked as specified. It was nothing that would stop us from returning.

Very noisy, I couldn't hear my wife speaking from across the table. Our steaks were tough and gristy. We received very little attention from our waiter and they seemed short-staffed. In all fairness, we have had many good experiences at Tarpy's and, hopefully, this was just an off night. Probably won't be back though.

The food was delicious and done perfectly. Loved the setting with the vibrant ambiance. Great way to spend New Year's Eve. Service could have been a bit more attentive but it was busy. Should not have to ask for water or ask for a refill. But otherwise, I would be happy to dine there again.
