This place is so cool. It's a bar and diner. So, totally laid back atmosphere. The food is great, especially the fish & chips. For dessert, YOU MUST HAVE the Butter Toffee Cake. OMG it smells like Disneyland and tastes like a sweet-ish pancake. THAT is by far, the best dessert I've had in years!
The ambiance was a throwback back to a better kinder time. The Navy presence is definitely there. The food was good, prices were reasonable and the service was most impressive considering a busy Friday Evening. Overall I'd recommend this establishment.

Great atmosphere. The food and drinks are great and reasonably priced. Great service. Interesting military heritage and history in the Hotel del Monte. A must visit in Monterey on the Naval Postgraduate School campus (must have base access).
