Sushi Ichiban in Morgan Hill used to be my favorite place for sushi and bento in town. Food quality has gone down a lot while prices have skyrocketed. Won't be going back.

The food is average but the services is suck. Our family came around late afternoon while the restaurant wasnt busy. We wait right at the door to be seated but the owner and their waiters walk by look at us but didnt even bother to ask us a question or intent to seat us. We wait for about 30 minutes and then a customer came in after us was seated while we keep waiting.Anyway, the food is just average. So disappointed.I highly recommend the CreAsian in downtown Morgan Hills. The services there is outstanding and the food is super good and fresh.I will never come back to this place.

We had a bad experience here. Order was mixed up, appetizers were not brought out before main course and service was slow. They were understaffed. Sushi was ok, have had fresher tuna in other places. We sat outside so can’t say much about the ambience. Not coming back here.

We went here for dinner and sat outside. We ordered some food and specifically asked for the kids food to come first. Everything took very long to come, even the water was not brought first. We received 3 orders in 1 plate. We kept waiting for our remaining 2 dishes, out of which 1 was for the kids. Then my husband went and checked why it was taking so long. Firstly there were only 3 ppl working there and they were quite busy and secondly they had mixed up our order and given us the wrong item. After waiting for 30 mins between dishes we told them to cancel our remaining items and left.

Food is always great! Spicy mama roll is my favorite. It's huge is indeed spicy which I personally enjoy. For baked rolls you can't go wrong with the lion king roll although it is smaller. The tempura udon is so delicious and flavorful and it's a huge serving. it does come out very hot so if ordering that for a kiddo you definitely need to keep that in mind. Loce this place and will continue coming back.
The baked mussels were very good. I was surprised that the Saba was a grilled filet rather than traditional Saba. The jalapeño roll didn’t really have much in the way of jalapeños… maybe just a couple little pieces that were hard to find. Nice roll, just lacking spice (I know, I know….. jalapeño rolls are an American thing….This is not a Japanese sushi restaurant, it’s more of a California fusion restaurant. But, the food is okay. The chefs are not Japanese, explaining the lack of authentic Saba.Morgan Hill does have a true sushi restaurant, but this is not the one.Also, the food was served out of order which was strange.The rolls and tempura rolls are absolutely beautiful and perfect.

They close at 2pm. Showed up 15 before they closed. It was a simple roll. Wanted to give them a second chance since the time before took forever to get my food and they were NOT busy. I always like to refer people to good quality service. this won't be one of them.

I am very picky about sushi. Sushi Ichiban has never failed! They always have fresh delicious fish. Each take out order we have had has been 100% correct, and the hard working staff is always so kind and caring! I am so happy that we have this wonderful establishment in Morgan Hill! I work in Mountain View and I wait until I get back home to have great sushi in my town. Bravo!
