Not the best carne asada burritos meat chewie , we bought two carne burritos and basically threw half of them away, and they forgot my side of guacamole, but did charge me for it,I will not come back to this place , therefore I don't recommend Chileno Restaurant

This spot is so deserving of 5 stars! I'll be coming back often! The food is fresh, good ingredients, great flavors, and not too expensive. The people working are friendly, great patio, I'm in!

LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! Everything I have tried has been so good. Enchiladas de mole con pollo, nachos, burrito, tacos de al pastor, chilaquiles, taquitos, los jugos. I can't wait to try more!

We loved this place. Service was fast and delightful and food was terrific. We were lucky to have the whole place to herself and I got the Taco de Papa. They were more like floaters with a corn tortilla rolled around the potato, but they were handmade and excellent. My best friend and soulmateGot the Primavera a lumber plate. Lots of vegetarian options and a really sweet back patio. We wish this restaurant all the best.

Took a trip and while Yelping food, I saw this place had 5 stars...I had to try it! Wow, it exceeded my expectations. I had the Torta Cubana. My friend had the Chileno Plate ordered with asada, bacon, chorizo, turkey franks, and onions as seen in one of their IG posts. I also ordered Nachos and they were delicious!! The food was so tasty; the flavor was just right. I loved the agua de Jamaica as well. Diana is a sweetheart and so friendly! She explained to me the history of Chinelos and where it originated from, which was very interesting. The patio seating was so cute and welcoming!! I can't wait to go back.

Best Mexican food! Super quick and fresh. Very authentic. I had chilaquiles with green sauce, my husband had potato taquitos and horchata. Everything was SO GOOD we literally came back the next day to have them again. I wish we lived closer to SLO, we would come here all the time. We're already craving to come again! Service was great too and very clean. The first time we ate inside the restaurant the 2nd time we ate on the patio- which was super cute.

I met with the owner Diana who was a delight and will be using Chinelo for catering a baby shower soon. Thank you so much! Oh and the cake...out of this world!!!! So happy they are here in SLO now!!! Everything was extremely delicious and homemade!

Not very good nor authentic, I was expecting soooooo much more due to the reviews. Ordered chilaquiles and fish taco. So disappointed, chilaquiles were drowned in the salsa nothing like soggy tortillas!! Fush taco had no salt and was bland. Onward and upward wont eat here again, too expensive for poor executed Mexican food

We are always on the search for authentic regional Mexican food. In San Luis Obispo we found outstanding food, mainly from the Mexican state of Morelos. Jeff had Chilaquiles with green sauce and eggs. I had the Chinelo plate with Cochinita (a Yucatán fav of marinated pulled pork shoulder). The star was the rice. The flavor of roasted garlic infused in it made it explode with flavor. Don't forget the Tres Leche cake yum, yum, yum. The name Chinelo comes from the traditional costumed dancers of Morelos. They good seating inside and a beautiful patio in the back. Our host was terrific. Sh

I work nearby and have ordered from Chinelo a few times for lunch. I get the chicken tacos with the most delicious green sauce!!! Diana is so friendly and helpful. The service is fast. I love Chinelo! Stop by here when in SLO.

Best Mexican food in SLO for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. 10/10 for tortilla chips, 10/10 for all salsas(green especially), and 20/10 for their chorizo breakfast burrito. Thank you Chinelo

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants in California, period. The food is what I would refer to as a 'perfect example' of their particular dishes. In other words, you may find a different type of carne asada you like better than this one, but you won't find a better execution of this type of carne asada. The level of execution can be seen especially in their simpler dishes. For example, the flan texture is pretty much perfect, objectively. More complex dishes are where the food really shines, however, as dishes feel varied and diverse but still cohesive. I won't recommend a particular dish because everything I've tried here is great, just order your favorite dish from the menu. The service is also very friendly. You feel very welcome and can tell that the workers love the restaurant and really want you to have a good experience. The establishment's overall picture shows a lot of pride and craftsmanship. While this will only be relevant for a bit longer, the restaurant feels very COVID safe. There's a lovely open patio out back to eat at and everything is packaged separately and not touched by servers, even for dine-in. I haven't ordered takeout, but I would imagine it's done very well. Overall, I can't recommend this place enough. If you like Mexican food at all you owe it to yourself to check it out.

My wife and I agree that Chinelo has the best carne asada we've ever eaten. Super lean, juicy and flavorful. Unbelievably soft corn tortillas. Delicious refried beans. Perfectly seasoned potato tacos. Fresh fruit cup with strawberries, grapes and cantaloupe, a welcome and healthy side offering. Tres Leches cake for dessert was to die for. Quality ingredients, thoughtful presentation, extremely satisfying. Chinelo, by far, is the best Mexican food we've ever had.

First off... customer service was GREAT, I was pleasantly greeted both on the phone and when I walked through the door. It really does make a difference so I appreciate that in casual type restaurants. The inside was well decorated with colorful and beautiful things to look at. It felt authentic and clean. Now the food.. I ate here 2 days in the row just to test out the consistency and it was just as good the 2nd time! I called in the first time and ordered online the second time, both methods worked great and the food was ready in 15 minutes. Their green avocado salsa is SOO tasty, they also give you this red HOT AF salsa but I'm a Cholula kinda guy so it was way too spicy for me but just know they got the fire lol The carne asada in my burrito was perfectly seasoned and cooked, rice and beans all good. They even put some carne asada on top of your burrito so you can pre-taste it like some fine wine, you know, when you swirl the wine around then smell the aromas, well it's even better with a burrito. Price point and serving size is great! All in all good vibes, great food and the girl at the counter was so nice and welcoming. Thank you!
