The server was busy being entertained by another customer with a dog.My gravy was cold and my grits were soupy. I wasn't able to ask the server to correct the issue but he didn't cube back until it was time for us to pay our bill.

We love the Black Bear Diner in our hometown of Puyallup, WA. When we happened upon the Original Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA we knew we HAD to stop for dinner.

Bad service, the waitress served us very reluctantly, for Hispanics I do not recommend it, the service was very different since the service for other tables was fine, she threw the juices and spilled them on the table, my little girl was surprised, my husband asked please if He could dry it and he completely ignored it, he didn't give us napkins to do it ourselves, there's no way we're coming back.

I've always loved dining at the black bar diners throughout California, except the Mount Shasta diner..... which is where I now live. My orders have been wrong about 75% of the time, the breakfast potatoes are greasy and overcooked, other food items also tend to be over cooked as well. Also, the food does not come out consistently hot, some items on the plate are barely warm, some just hot.

Waiter took forever to take our order on a slow night, had to ask for silverware, salad was brought 2 minutes before entree was brought out, my daughters pancakes tasted weird, broccoli was moldy, mashed potatoes were cold, prime rib was over cooked, gravy was super salty. Waiter never came back to the table to check on things... had to get up to go ask another staff member for the bill.. was given a free brownie for the experience and it tasted bad too. Blackbear in Mt Shasta has really gone down hill and needs to train their staff better.
