I visited this restaurant on 04/20/2024 around 4:30 PM I had a disappointing experience at Limón, a Peruvian restaurant located in downtown Mountain View, CA. Unfortunately, I was not attended due to my appearance, which left me feeling quite upset. Despite my attempts to get the attention of the staff, I was ignored and ultimately had to leave the premises without receiving any service. It's disheartening when a restaurant prioritizes appearances over providing good customer service. As a result, I cannot recommend Limón based on my experience.

Good Peruvian restaurant with a rich menu and well executed plates on a number of different styles. A great addition to the historically underwhelming mountain view offering.

I went to this location after an amazing experience in Burlingame. What a terrible idea!! We ordered the entrees and they were good, but it was at the time I got my Churrasco, the meat was well done as I ordered, but the onion and potatoes of the side were totally burned, I tried eating them but I couldn’t. My server Alexander told me the only option was to get a different side, he offered rice or potatoes, I asked him to change my plate and he said that was not an option so I ended up choosing potatoes, he advised that was not a good idea as they were going to be burned just as the ones I got, I was shocked by his response but I asked for rice. After I got it, we received our check and we realized we were charged for ordering more Chimichurri and another sauce, which it’s okay but we were never informed that they will do it. I complained to him about my meat as it is a $48 plate, and he went to the manager, what a terrible idea. The manager named Sebastian, came to my table and sat next to us as if was part of our party, and for me that was extremely rude, but unfortunately this was only the beginning. His attitude was sassy, and he told me that basically I had to pay for the plate, as it was listed on the menu, which clearly I saw it when I ordered it and the problem was not the price it was that I WAS NOT RECEIVING A DECENT FOOD, and he said there was nothing he could do about that. He started arguing with me and my boyfriend, telling us that we were only paying for the meat, and the meat was expensive, he literally grabbed the onions that were in my plate with his hands and put them in front of my face and started yelling at me and saying THIS IS A ONE DOLLAR ONION. I was so shocked I can’t even describe it, I told him I did not care how much they were as again, I was paying for the whole plate! This has to be one of my worst experiences on a restaurant, I had never seen somebody talking to a customer like that in my life, when I’ve been working in the business for years. After that terrible experience, I ended up taking a Churrasco home with a side of rice, which for me was literally a joke. This guy named Denise came to our table very respectful and apologized about the whole incident with Alexander and he asked us for permission to seat right next to us as the other so called Manager Sam did not. I appreciate Denise and what he told us, but unfortunately it was too late for the WORST EXPERIENCE we ever had in our lives.I’ve never been so disappointed in my life with a restaurant. I loved Limón from the first time and we even have a friend that works as a server on a different location, but I don’t think I will ever go back again and I will let my friends now my experience on this location.

Great food. The Lomo Salado was delicious (although slightly too salty for my taste by the end of the dish). The problem was trying to get served by the *correct* waiter. There were many waiters walking around but my waiter was nowhere to be seen and everyone else refused to take my order or get me the bill. They insisted that I needed to wait for *my* waiter. Pretty broken system. Clearly they need to just pay their waiters properly and split the tips rather than create tension and a poor customer experience over who is serving who.

3 dishes, perfectly seasoned and the Cadillac margarita was very balanced. The octopus was tender and I really liked the sauce. The lengua was delicious and the limon ceviche was fresh and just overall yummy!
