The food is weird here. We had the Mexican shrimp dish. I appreciated the server's warning about it being spicy and it was spicy. The sauce had a good flavor. However, there were mixed sizes of shrimp in the same dish. There were ~5 around size 30 and 2 size 10. The larger size shrimp were not peeled and deveined. The result was that the small shrimp were crazy overcooked and tough. The larger shrimp were a mess to eat because we had to clean them ourselves when they were covered in sauce. Basically had to clean them removing head, legs and mud vein and then resource them. This was really odd.We paid for the app and left before the main course.

We visited Napa from Southern Oregon and dined here early, just before 5pm. My husband is a Korean War Veteran and I' a couple decades younger. He had his favorite: braised short ribs and I couldn't resist one of my top temptations: scallops (new diet be damned!). The food was wonderful and the young lady server was attentive and helpful without hovering. The maitre d', in honor of my husband's war service, arranged a special surprise for us to accompany a surprise dessert. The seating and layout worked well for us, as my man uses a transport wheelchair for distance but sits normally at the table--but he does need a nook or edge of the room for hearing. Napa Valley Bistro has it all; room for big gatherings, and romantic corners and service to die for.

Wonderful place tucked away in scenic downtown Napa! There are several vegetarian options, and they are quite willing to alter the menu to suit your tastes. For lunch,we had the mushroom flatbread (sans mushrooms, with added onions and tomatoes).. was so flavorful!! The risotto was cooked perfectly, and the jalapeno cornbread was quite tasty (with a touch of sweetness). The wine/ red blend had a lot of flavor but the other cocktail was a bit sweet, (the waiter was quite willing to bring a bit more alcohol to balance the flavor, though). All in all, a wonderful experience! Topped off by a very short walk on the beaver bridge next to the parking lot with the sun shining down made for a perfect Saturday afternoon in Napa!

Party of 8 - only 1 out of 8 loved their meal. Rest of us all agreed, it was just ok. Two of us didn't like the special at all - ribeye steak was tough. The manager was kind and offered free dessert for the two of us but it was sad to me that most of us didn't like our meals. Oh well, now we'll know for next time.

We ate at the bar and ordered an appetizer and side both were excellent and creative. We then split fish and chips that was also very good. The bartender who served us was great and her hospitality made the evening.
What a wonderful restaurant. Great food and service. The lady waiting on us was so caring. The short ribs are to die for. The scallops were tender and delicious. Great salads. The special desert cake was light and wonderful.

Thank you so much to the staff that night for accommodating us bringing our newborn. They seated us relatively soon after reservation time. We could tell there were parties that stayed longer than expected. Solid work and thanks for the clear communication!
Table we were sitting at had to be fixed due to severe wobble. Scallops were cooked nice but the sides weren't that great. Husband had short ribs but it actually looked like pot roast, so he wasn't impressed. The service for water and wine was terrible. Water was never filled up, completely empty for part of meal and we finished our wine during meal. Never came back to ask if we wanted another. Won't be going back.

Food was good! Nice Valentine's dinner. Maine lobster and filet mignon entree was perfect. Lobster and dungeness crab salad was good but small portion size as an entree! The dessert vanilla natilla was yummy with black coffee.

We like to do lunch on Valentine's Day and we always enjoy our meals here. Our server Jesus was very attentive and the Clam Chowder, Crab Louie and Crab Caesar with Chardonnay was perfect.
Great food and service outstanding
