They only make a few items. The breading on the rolls have lots of sugar. The filling is meat with barbecue sauce

Finally checking this place out with the new ownership. Store hours say open Monday - Saturday 9-5p but came here on a weekday at 530p and it was still open due to baked goods still being in stock. I ordered 3 steamed pork buns and 3 baked pork buns. Came in a box. I should've opened it to check the contents cos I ended up getting 6 baked pork buns. Quality is there. Will have to come back again and check out the other items.

Wow! I didn't know what to expect when I walked into the shop as there's not much to the front side and no seating. There's nothing on display except for large pictures of the baked and steamed pork and chicken baos and coconut bread. The baked pork buns are one of the best I've tried, and I've tried them from a lot of places in San Diego and Los Angeles. The steamed buns remind me of my mother's recipe. This place is worth the try!

The best cake I ever eaten. Less sugar and very good for diabetic like me. I was thinking to take home the top layer; However a lot of people asking for some more and all of them finished no left over. That is mean the cake was good. I recommend to order the cake from them. Trust me you will be wanted some more

This place is good afford able and has a good food.I have placed an order for a birthday cake for December it is cheap and you can customized what you want on the cake whether the sweetness and style and this place also deliver to your venue without worrying how to pick it up and accident free.I do not the outcome yet but if it is good would love to recommend this place. So far I bought the bake chicken bun it was good.

Yesterday was my first for awhile since I been on this place and noticed that it was different, the person that was there said it’s a new management and the recipe is the same. The truth is your recipe is not even close to what the previous owner! Not even close!! Please stop telling people that is the same and it’s not. Yuck!!

NOTE: 5 stars for the old Canton BakeryI miss the old Chinese Canton Bakery and the friendly Chinese lady cashier. I miss your baked pork siopao. They are the best and the quality and taste never changed over the 40 years since I started buying from your bakery. Thank you and enjoy your retirement! National City won't be the same without Canton Bakery. We will miss your baked and steamed siopao!NOTE: 5 (five) stars are for the old Canton Bakery

OMG just as good as I remember from 30 years ago! The coconut rolls (4 pack) are buttery and tasty. The ube cake was very flavorful and the frosting was nice and sweet. The steamed char siu bau has amazing filling flavors. The best part was they now keep everything in warmers in the back so it's nice and warm, almostFresh from the oven. So delicious. Store hours are until 5 pm. Will definitely visit again when in the area!

Definitely Not The Same Cakes Quality Went Down 50%. This Was My Families Go To Cake Spot For Well Over 26 Years. The Only Good Thing Was Yhe Staff Was Friendly But The Cake Was Hard Definitely Not Fresh Or Fluffy Like The Used To Be. You Went Down Like Half The Size They Used To Be Very Tall And The Frosting Was Nice Aire And Fluffy. The Cake Was Very Moist And Where Able To Actually See The Vanilla Bean. Now It Hard Cake Dry And Dry Whippcream

I was a last-minute customer, and the service and baked item was exceptional.

Since moving up North, it's been more than a decade since I've been back to this bakery. Found out that they're under new ownership but served the same baked goods. When I walked in, the bakery display cases were extremely sparse. Only a few baked goods and a bunch of bags of various potato chips. I asked if they had baked pork buns and the girl at the front had to go back to ask. Thankfully, they had some so I paid for them and waited. They were $3.00 a piece. I wanted to purchase steamed ones as well but they were sold out. I also bought a pack of coconut bread which had 4 pieces for $5.00. I was surprised that I had to wait as long as I did for the pork buns but when we got home and tried them I had a hunch that they had been reheated and not freshly made. Sadly, the taste was good but the bread even though they were still warm, was a bit hard & chewy. The coconut bread however, was the complete opposite. Absolutely delicious! It was soft & pillowy with just the right amount of filling. Unfortunately, it's not worth the 45 minute drive to get there from where I live.I'd probably only go back for the coconut bread if I was in the area - which is a rarity.
