“My mother-in-law grew up eating these tacos when she was a child in the 50s. When she had her family, they went down to TJ sometimes specifically for these tacos from 100 miles away. My wife was so happy to find these childhood favorites on this side of the border.“
“"Go to the grocery store and buy better things. Buy quality, buy organic, buy natural, go to the farmers market. Immediately, that's going to increase the quality of the food you make." ― Michael SymonNow, this has got to be the coolest farmers market I have been to. This place was once the San Diego Naval Training Center that has now revamped itself to be a marketspace for food, arts, crafts, and culture. Whatever you could possibly want to purchase, you can probably find it here. There are so many amazing stalls and if I didn't pop in after a filling lunch, it would have been amazing to buy some good eats here. It is definitely a well-loved spot for the community. Support your local artisans while soaking in some San Diego naval history!“
“Prices are reasonable, and you can find most Asian foods. Japanese food is often cheaper than at nearby Japanese supermarkets, so it might be a good idea to shop here first, and if there's something they don't have, go to another store.“
“Last night was the second time this week I took friends visiting SD to dinner at Brigantine. I have so many favorites that it's hard to decide what to order. Last night we shared the shrimp and crab dip and we all enjoyed it. I ordered the Louie salad and took half home since it is a large portion. My friends both ordered the seared ahi tuna entree and they really liked it. Our server was attentive and professional as most are at this restaurant. The noise level was better than usual since it was a rainy night and the restaurant wasn't full. I am fortunate to live just 2 blocks away from Portside Pier.“
“Chef Budda Blasian Soul Food came to our office for lunch. They were extremely responsive & were happy to work with my organization's extra security policies. On the day of the event, staff was super friendly & the food was DELICIOUS. While they offered lunch portions, most of our employees opted to get the full dinner meal& some even came back out to get another meal for dinner. Personally, I had the combo wings, tenders, mac & cheese, & rice & gravy and everything was AMAZING! The food was cooked fresh & the chicken was crispy on the outside but SO juicy on the inside. When I was eating it at my desk, the smell alone had my coworkers peeking into my cubicle to see what I was eating. If you haven't tried them yet, I highly suggest you do! We will absolutely be asking them to come back in the future.“
“The staff was super friendly, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was great. I have a gluten allergy and the staff was very helpful in informing me of what was a possible cross contamination risk. I ultimately had the fishermen's stew and they were able to give me a gluten free alternative to the traditional bread that is served with it. It was delicious and perfect. The lavender lemon drop was also really good!“
“We were in the area due to work. We flew here from Eastern North Carolina. I've been a fan of Sam the Cooking Guy for years now as I have a few of his knives and the cast iron skillet. I knew since I was in the area I had to go do at least one of his restaurants while I was here. I stopped at Samburgers and it did not disappoint. Little Italy is such a cool, chill little place. Stopped and talked to a few random people and everyone was so nice. The food at Samburgers was great. I got the jalapeno burger and it was amazing. It is easily one of the best burgers I've ever had and it's due to the flavor of the patty. The flavor of the patty is hands down the most flavorful patty I've ever had. Everything complimented each other extremely well and the bread was great too. And like his videos, all the toppings covered all the burger. Every bite had every thing in it that you were supposed to eat. The fries actually were kind of just okay, but the garlic aioli was amazing. Hands down I would recommend this place and I can't wait to go to Not Not Tacos and the other joints in there. Everything looked great.“
“LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! Such a vibe! Cutest decor! Everyone is so nice. The businesses are great. Sushi is opening soon! Cant wait! Best addition to old town San Diego! Had the cutest blue drinks at Hola Paris and yummy elote at the corn place! Must try the donuts from Barrio Donas and the shrimp at Flor's!“
“Outdoor bar with tons of events throughout the week! I was there for the first time during their trivia night on Wednesday and it was so much fun! They have a comedian as the host and I found him to be really funny as well as good at keeping the energy high. Drinks were cheap. Happy hour all night if I'm not mistaken. $8 beers and happy hour prices on delicious cocktails! The Dynamite burger on the menu was delicious and the fries and nachos were also really good! Definitely recommend for a night out.“
“I always look forward to coming to this market place on the weekends anytime we're in San Diego. There are a ton of different food options, available, for meals and desserts. They also have local artist and vendors who make bags, robes, hats, jewelry, etc. The vibe is super chill, and everyone seems like they're here to just enjoy the sunshine, it's proximity to the water, and just hang out.I'm personally very committed to the bao buns from House of Bao and the dole whip. My kids love the shave ice from the Filipino truck (Lola's). Other faves have been the empanadas and the tacos.“
“It has great food the prices haven’t really changedDuring this hard timesThe only down fall is that when you call to order a whole pizza there is times where they don’t put attention and they and they don’t even try to,They like to act superior and it’s pretty annoyingBut there’s exceptions ,Food 9.5 - Service 8.0“
“The wonderful couple that runs this humble French inspired food spot are very responsible and friendly. They produce some of the highest quality food choices around San Diego. Their food is fresh and healthy yet filled with flavor in every bite. I can’t say enough about how amazing the food is here. At such a reasonable price as well. The service is fast and attentive. I highly recommend this place to anyone wether you are hungry or not.“
