It's a big ice cream shop. I got a pecan praline and taro (has some ube) in a waffle cone. The scoops run large so you'll get quite a lot of creamy goodness. They have sorbets if you can't have milk.

I enjoyed the sea salt caramel ice cream. I don't like that they don't do samples, even a 2 or 3 sample minimum per person would be good. For that, I saw go to Salt & Straw instead. Handel's has big portions even for a small, so it's difficult to try a new flavor without being wasteful.

Wow! Super surprised how many flavors of ice cream they had. My husband and I came and got 2 samplers so we can try multiple and really loved the monkey business, horchata and blueberry cobbler, not really a fan of the mint Oreo though. Overall great date night.
if anybody ever told you that, they didn't like this ice cream, I could never trust them. This ice cream is so incredible. Wow I am blown away. Totally satisfied me with such a rich flavor. You can taste the cream in it. This is the best place for any ice cream lover in San Diego. I am so impressed.

Ice cream is really good when they have your favorite flavor, but the flavors rotate so that might not always be the case. My favorite flavor is cheesecake oreo and my wife's is the midnight madness, a lot of flavors are really good here. The service is good and the crew members are friendly and helpful. I would give this a 5 star if they had my favorite ice cream flavor all the time, but since the flavors rotate, they took out my favorite flavor cheesecake Oreo yesterday and replaced with some pumpkin flavor for fall so I won't be returning until my flavor comes back in I guess. My low rating only has to do with the rotating flavors, I really hate that I have to check to see if my flavor is available, I wasted a trip to the store today because I thought it would be available since I grabbed a quart of the cheesecake Oreo the weekend before. I would love to give this place 5 stars if they would stop rotating my favorite flavors, I personally hate that they would rotate some of there classic flavors out to bring in some other flavors. Why not just add more flavors instead of taking them away? Good thing some of there other locations still carry cheesecake Oreo, I will just take my purchases to the other locations even though this is the closest location to me.
The servers were very nice and didn't rush us when we were picking out our flavors (this was our first time there soo we had a lot to look at haha) We ended up going pretty late and the ice cream still tasted fresh. Would recommend!

The staff is really helpful and friendly. They have a great selection of flavors, and the cones are all crisp and fresh. It's an excellent location in the heart of miles of cars. Fast service and clean shop.

I’m used to going to the Handles in PB where they stated small size is 1 scoop + 1/2 I believe.Well handles in National city, how is this a small? Wth is this? Why did I pay $7 for this skimpy scoop of ice cream?? I used to be so ecstatic to come here. But now it’s basically overpriced ice cream. I do not recommend at all!

Shop is simple and straight forward. The staff were great CSRs. Attentive and patient. Traditional and not so traditional flavors. Mint Oreo was good will be returning to try the Taro-Ube and blackberry

This review has nothing to do with the ice cream. I'm very disappointed in the service I received today around 1:10p. I went in and requested to see the allergen sheet so I could see which ice creams I was able to eat based on my dietary needs and was told I can't have it, that they're not supposed to provide it. I've been given it several times before, this was the first time I was told no. I've taken pictures previously, but couldn't find them today, which is why I asked for it. So I walked out, frustrated, hot and ice cream less!!! If someone with allergies asks for allergen information, it should be provided to ensure the safety of the customer and the restaurant. The reason why this has been shared with me previously as well, is due to the fact that the employees were unaware and unable to inform me whether or not certain ice cream's I was interested in contained the ingredients that I was concerned about. In an effort to alleviate confusion and harm to either one of us, the allergen laminated cards were provided for my personal safety and education. This allowed me to make an informed decision as a customer as to which ice cream's I could eat based on my dietary needs.This is unacceptable. I won't be coming back to this location, def put a bad taste in my mouth. Ice cream would've been better. And since I finally found the allergen info... I'm gonna post it to educate others for their safety. Ironically, if you read the bottom of the card, the info is directed to the customers for use at their discretion.... Yet I didn't get this discretion today!!!
