Their ice cream is delicious but I think their forks are too cheap for such delicious ice cream . It brings the level down

The best ice cream I've ever had anywhere. No artificial flavor, no artificial covering and the service is spot on. If you've never been here, please be sure to give it a try. An old fashioned ice cream parlor for sure!.

A legendary San Diego area ice cream shop that I finally got to stop by yesterday and wow was I impressed! It's a little tucked away hidden gem in National City that serves delicious ice cream made daily with quality ingredients and with many unique flavors! The lady serving me was so friendly and told me about how their ice cream was made and how they developed flavors back in the day after talking with sailors coming back from deployment. I ended up getting 2 scoops with my flavor choices being Honey Bourbon Fig & Sweet Cream Peanut Butter. The ice cream here is amazing and my 2 scoops were delicious! The honey bourbon fig was quite interesting and a great flavor combination that I would order again and my favorite of the 2 but sweet cream peanut butter was also tasty with a good amount of peanut butter mixed in! This shop easily gets a 5/5 recommendation from me and you should definitely stop by to get ice cream here and it's easy to grab and go or you can even get a half gallon container if you want to take some home!

Great little ice cream place! I love the taste of it. It's quick (no long line when I went) service. Love that it's not some ridiculous giant portion. Recommend the peanut butter flavor and Kahlua crunch flavor. The macadamia nut one wasn't as good as I expected. I like the waffle cone/bowl! Will go back to try more flavors! Street parking. Parking wasn't bad. I went on Sunday early afternoon. It's street parking. A quick grab and go. Not many space for you to sit down and enjoy.

A little bit dated review. 60 years ago, friends and I would walk from our neighborhood on T Avenue (long since buried under I 805) to Niederfranks on A Avenue. Just for a cone. Great memories

Niederfrank's is a National City Institute. It has been business for years. It mainly sells ice cream but does have limited pies. The ice cream is made locally (I think in the back of the store). The ice cream is very smooth and creamy because of the ingredients they use. They have a large selection of flavors, like Pineapple Mango, Salted Caramel, Strawberry Cheesecake, Cookie Dough, Chocolate, Vanilla, Golden Pistachios, and the list goes on and on. I think they have 50 or more flavors. They have malts, shakes, and Sundays and will make them using any flavor you choose. It is a small store front with no seating inside . There are a couple of tables outside in front. The employees are very friendly and will provide taste samples if asked. Prices are good.I always get 4 or 5 half gallons when I stop by. The ice cream holds up great in the freezer at home. There are some restaurants next door or within a block of Niederfrank's. Parking can be an issue as there isn't a parking lot. The street parking can fill up due to the other businesses in the area.I recommend this place.Parking: Street parking that can fill up quickly due to other businesses on the street. Limited handicap spaces are available.

I'm not a fan of their ice cream, but many are! Indoor seating has been removed, only outdoor is now available, and limited.

One of the best ice cream places i have tried so far in San Diego. There are so many flavors to pick from. The ones we ordered tasted very fresh and so yummy. (We got strawberry and rum raisin) They weren’t overly sweet like most ice cream places are.I can see why some reviews were complaining about the price. I ordered a single scoop of ice cream in the cup. comparing to how much ice cream you normally would get from other places, it is a smaller portion. HOWEVER I personally don’t want to eat a huge amount of ice cream at once and I do appreciate the smaller portion with better quality ingredients. So it works out perfectly for me. :) My husband ordered one scoop in a waffle cone and his portion of ice cream looks more than mine in the cup. So if you want more ice cream, maybe get them in a waffle cone instead of a cup.I highly recommend this place if you like homemade, fresh, and tasty ice-creams. I can’t wait to come back and try other flavors next time!!

This is a great little spot. It's an ice cream parlor with some delicious and unique flavors. We took my dad for his favorite (liquorice) because we can't get it anywhere else. The ingredients are clearly high quality and the variety is impressive. I had a blackberry vanilla and it was wonderful. Definitely check it out if you're in the area

Niederfrank's is legendary but I never had the opportunity to go because of their hours and location. They have lots of options to pick from. I ordered Macademia Nut and Kahlua Krunch. Wonderful combination!!! It is strictly outside seating. The location is in an area where parking is at a premium. That being said ... the ice cream is worth trying at LEAST once!!!!

Stumbled upon this place after visiting market on 8th. This place is kinda like a mom and pop shop, there was only 1 lady in the front helping us. We tried the ube and thai ice tea and was kinda disappointed. However, the third flavor we tried was the Kahlua krunch and I really enjoyed that. Reminds me of Java chip. Kinda pricey for a small scoop though. There are definitely better ice cream/gelato joints in the SD area in my opinion.

Good quality ice cream. Lots of flavors to choose from. Sadly I'm a plain vanilla person so I cannot tell you about the flavors. The hours on Google maps tends to be off. I'm including the current schedule for
