I ate there about 8 months ago. I had a craving for shrimp , mushrooms , zucchini , fish etc.. like what a Fish and chops used to be like? Especially. Either crab. But. I thought I'd try this business? I was dirty I did. The good was over cooked. But. The fish? Was not? It was under cooked. I didn't know it was and took a bite. I noticed long white stringy thin stuff after I bit into it? I pulled them out. I realized it was worms. So I made myself regurgitate it back up! I don't need to die by parasites ingested in that manner. I should have made a report to the "Better Business Bureau?" But. I've tried that before. They are not like what they used to be. They are worthless! So I just never went back! Since I was sent this text? I figure I'd earn people about this place. If people haven't figured out it already by themselves by now? Fish and chips is expensive. But. Paying to be fed crap like that? Oh hell no! I haven't been to the one in Hsyward for a long time? "London Fish & Chips." Yup! They are expensive. But. Good. I'd rather go there instead. But. Yhat's me. You all go you! If they've improved? I still wouldn't go there. That's my opinion. What happened to me? Is enough to keep me away from there. It would've been nice because it's close by me. But. Just the thought of what's in the fish? Or any fish these days? No thank you! Businesses who deal which fish? Should be more vigilant where it vines from snd not polluted either such things visible to the naked eye? If they are going to sneak in crap like that? Who gave no morals or ethics? Just to make a buck off people any which way possible? Oops! I learned my lesson. So you all learn yours. I'm just letting people know my experience either way this business. It was not pleasant. I had ordered everything I mentioned. Except any crab. They didn't have any! Even if it were artificial crab? I'd have bought it. As far as I know? From my travels. No one does crab anymore. So either that! Good luck eating there. You just won't see me there ever!

LENT 2024: FOURTH FRIDAY OF LENT When this place first opened I used to go to this fish and chip joint about 4-5 times a year as there wasn't a lot of places in the East Bay at that time serving fish and chips. I always loved their fish but their fries not so much; the fish had that light, crispy breading whereas the fries were too soggy. Last Friday there were three places I considered to eat. I decided at the last minute to come to 101 Fish & Chips. I ordered a large combo that consisted of 2 pieces of fish and 4 shrimps along with fries. The fries I had in the past used to look flimsy. The fries I had at 101 Fish & Chips that day were crinkle-cut fries. I like the look of crinkle fries because they looked crispy. At 101 Fish & Chips the crinkle fries were crispy. The fish was moist while the breading maintained that light crispiness without being too oily as sometimes in the past. Then why didn't I give this place a higher rating? First the mozzarella sticks were a huge disappointment. They weren't fully cooked as the mozzarella wasn't melted as I was eating a stick of cold mozzarella stick. Second this place wasn't opened for customers to eat inside but only for take-out. I overheard the owner saying to a customer that place isn't opened to eat in during Lent but will open to dine in after Easter. Like what? This place could make more money on Fridays during Lent especially catering to Catholics who can only eat fish on Lent Friday. Since there are now quite of number of fish and chip joints in the East Bay I'm more willing to try those places.

We ordered food for Valentine's Day. We wanted something different. The dining room is closed to March, which was no problem. We ordered fish and chips. Chicken tenders. Chicken wings. Not to happy with the food. Fish pieces were small, but they were good. Everything else was overcooked. Chicken tenders were so tough and dry. Wings were ok. Fries were also overcooked. I'm not sure if we will go back. Wish I took pictures. Friendly service

This place is good but geez the wait time is insane for this Friday night. 1.5 hours for two combos . No indoor dining but the flyer did say after 4/2024 the dining area will open

Ordered calamari. It was rubbery and seemed old...French fries were also a disappointment.. fish was okay. Calamari was not edible. Good way to waste 7 bucks

It's the one place that came up on the map selling pure fish and chips. They didn't answer the phone so headed over to place a pick up an order. There is no dining room available. We barely made it at closing but were pleased to see the door swing open and people waiting for their food. Placed the order and waiting outside we perused the large menu on the window. There are a lot of different choices and combinations. They whip a wide variety of battered fried food well. The food was pretty good. I liked everything being crunchy on the outside. Aside from everything being plain tasting on the inside it wasn't a deal breaker. The only downside was the yucky tartar sauce. I do not like sweet sauce. It was lacking the tart amd texture like I'm used to. Portions were decent for the price. Would return but would get my own sauce.

So delicious! The batter is perfect and crunchy and the fish perfectly done. Not a bit of sogginess or greasiness! Even the crinkle cut fries are so crunchy and delicious!

If you enjoy a true classic fish and chips, then please know the negative comments about this place do not apply! The white fish inside the batter is always cooked well and doesn't have a funky after taste. The batter itself is very lightly seasoned and has a great bite with a nice crunch. Sure, they don't put all kinds of seasonings on it or loads of salt and pepper, but then that wouldn't be the traditional kind of fish and chips. To go with it, they have the most delicious tarter sauce you can find anywhere. It's so good. Especially with the deep fried prawns. Other than the fish and chips, fried prawns with a order of large tarter sauce, I haven't tried much else on the menu. But there is no need lol those items stand all on their own. Please, at least try this place and make up your own mind. I don't think you'll regret it.

My dad and grandma's favorite fish and chips spot in this side of the bay. He grew up going to it! The lady at the counter remembered my dad and grandma. They have some Asian food options too, like sesame balls. Smells really great when you walk through the door.

Fish was over cooked and not thAt good. I believe they could have put a little More effort into the presentation and seasoning.

Was in the area and found this fish and chip restaurant. My husband and I ordered the two pieces fish and chip. The fries were good fat, cut fries... the fish was okay, they didn't give any malt vinegar.I also ordered shrimp and had to ask for sweet chili sauce. The proportion was small. But for $7 each order can't expect much.Id rather have paid a little more,And have a bigger portion of fish .

Don't let the looks of this place fool you because it actually tastes good compared to what's around. I get fish and chips and have not been disappointed yet. They tarter sauce taste great too.

Best fish and chips in the area. The only shortfall is they are only open 3 days a week. Fish is perfectly cooked on the inside and crispy on the outside. My favorite
