Simply awesome!

Bluewater Grill is the best place for seafood in Orange County. They have a great variety of fish and shellfish; the service is wonderful, and they have free corkage. My wife and I dine here 2 to 3 times a month and are neveer disappointed. We had two of our favorites. She had the baked Haddock with scalloped potatoes and asparagus only had them serve it with the Lemon Caper Burre Blanc which is a fantastic sauce over fish. I had the steamed clams and mussels, which I usually alternate with the Cioppino (which is the best) and the Chipotle blackened swordfish over dirty rice. Absolutely wonderful. The servers are some of the best. Friendly, helpful and since we eat here a lot, most will stop by and say hello. We love this restaurant.

It's a noisy venue during lunch inside. Of the 3 of us, I had the fish entree with eel sauce, another had the mahi mahi, and the 3rd had the salmon sandwich. 2 of us loved our fish plates; the 3rd said the salmon sandwich was not so great because of the bread. I've eaten there a few times and plan on many more meals there in the future.

Our lunch at the Bluewater Grill in Newport on Saturday was lovely in every aspect, from the hostess to the servers and the food from the kitchen. What really stood out for me was the acoustics in the dining room area. Conversation was easy to hear because the music level was not over the top. The valet parking crew (a father and daughter) were gracious, too, and the price is reasonable. All in all it was a memorable occasion for me and my family and a friend, food.

Whole belly clams were a disappointment. Bellies were tiny and tasted more like clam strips. Very greasy too. French fries were hard and cold. Wouldn't order again. Other meals in our party were good.

Reservation for two on a Thursday evening at 6:00. Seated immediately at a banquette facing the water. Place was pretty croweded for a weekday evening. Woody was our waitress and came by a few minutes after we were seated. Took our drink orders and bread was provided. She is VERY good at her job; knowledgeable, friendly, attentive, everything you could ask for. I had a martini (choice of olives!) and wife had a nice IPA (the only one on the menu). My wife ordered fried clams. She's from MA and this is about the only place to find them; we were happy to see them on the menu after several years where they had been dropped. Served with french fries and cole slaw as expected. I had mahi-mahi served with scalloped potatoes and spinach under a Hollandaise sauce. Generous portion, very fresh, wonderful choice. It was our 53rd anniversary and Woody comped us with a creme brulee for dessert. Large ramekin, thin sugar crust, smooth cream with no graininess. Very nice dessert. Would definitely come back and would be delighted if Woody were our server again. Only negative is parking. Valet only as there are very few street spaces nearby.

Great food and atmosphere. Be prepared to sit outside even though the seating says “standard”. We had heaters but it is either hot or cold. Loved the menu. Food was fresh and well cooked. Would highly recommend

Blue Water Grill is my hands down favorite local seafood place. Food is great, there's outside/dogs allowed seating on the water in the Lido Yacht Basin if you like, or inside if you prefer warmer/less sun/a bit more noise. Staff is on top of it but not pushy. Prices are best in class by far

We had an accident dinner, but were informed by OpenTable that we did not attend and that there may be a fee. Waiter was Steven and. In fact we sent our regards via him to another waiter that we know. Aside from this it was a very pleasant evening.

Great location with a nice view. Service was really good. Prices high and food just average. Not sure I'd come here again, and I'd rather give Cannery a try based off recommendations.

Service was great, food was amazing with the exception of the crab cakes(the one item I was looking forward to). The crab flavor was good but they were very greasy like they were not cooked in hot enough oil or were cooked and not served immediately so they were not crispy, just soggy. Other wise the scallops, octopus, chowders and Caesar salad were great. We didn't finish the crab cakes and should have sent them back. Regardless, we highly recommend this restaurant and will be back.

The best seafood restaurant in Orange County. The service is always great, the food is wonderful, and they have free corkage on bottles of wine you bring in. I had the Blackened Swordfish with dirty rice and my wife had the Prawn Linguine (shrimp and pasta in a marinara sauce.) Both were great and our server Walter was very helpful. Even though we eat here at least twice per month, my wife was having difficulty making a selection. She asked him about a couple of entrees, and he not only described them, but he also brought them by as he was serving others so she could see them. Really helped. You can't go wrong here with any of the fish or shellfish, and they will substitute sauces and sides on almost any dish. Try the lemon caper Beurre Blanc. It is unbelievably good.
