This spot has been on my yelp bookmark for years and I finally got the chance to finally go before they officially closed this weekend. It was a great experience from start to end from the staff and the food was phenomenal. So sad they closed.

This was one of the best Italian restaurants in So Cal, particularly Orange County. Service was always attentive, not rushed, individual and personal. The food fresh, recipes imaginative and authentic Italian. Today is its last day. We went for a traditional Chardonnay lunch. This review is an ode to a wonderful series of afternoon and evening dining experiences. Thank you to everyone there. We will always remember regardless of what is put in its place.

May have been a really busy day but service was slow and poor attention to detail. For example the waiter's helper took our appetizer plates away even though we ordered appetizers. Only to have to bring them back. Same with our cutlery. It was odd.

One of the best restaurants in town. We come here at least 5 times a month. The food is delicious, service is spectacular and friendly. Truly an Italian Restaurant! The Irvine company wanted to increase their lease payments by an astronomical amount, and after a year of negotiating, the Irvine company found a jewelry store to take over this huge restaurant, which not only we love, and NPB and CDM people love, but we need more restaurants, not less, as it is hard to get a table on the weekends. We will miss this restaurant and the people who work here. Some of them we will see at other restaurants in the area. Very sad to see them leave. The last day was yesterday, Sunday, May 15th.

This review is solely based on service and overall experience. My wife and myself have been to many upscale restaurants before and have NEVER had a worse experience than the one i had here. Waitress by the name Josephine was extremely rude from the very beginning, never even offered drinks, then after forgetting to put in my daughters food, without any type of apology proceeded to try and justify her error blaming it on us. Went as far as to leave the table laughing after i asked for the manager after she was talking over me still trying to justify herself. Ive never felt so profiled in ANY restaurant. We've spent anywhere from $40 to a few hundred dollars for a meal and have always had really good experiences. Safe to say we wont be visiting again

Authentic Italian restaurant, the menu options are an excellent value. The dining experience overall is very pleasant. They will close the restaurant forever this coming May 15, 2022 I highly recommend this restaurant. Visit Canaletto before they close.

Very disappointing restaurant overall. Small menu with underwhelming food. I had gnocchi that tasted like baby food. Service and ambiance are nothing to write home about either. Just not a good experience

Restaurant is closing soon. I had the special which sounded good but was a large piece of baked breaded chicken with some rocket lettuce and flavorless beans on it. I ate it but had to get some marinara to dip it in. Was dry. I think because this is closing the good chefs may have left already. I only review very good or very bad experiences. This one the latter. Sweet hostesses and knowledgeable waiter. Issue was the food.
The servicer didn't explain dishes and appeared rushed. The food was so so and too expensive. I have been to many other Italian restaurant and other with better food and services bests this restaurant any day. I do not plan to go back. Overall, too expensive and food was nothing special.

Our waiter Jacobo is amazing ! He delivers excellent above and beyond service! Very friendly and accommodating , he always makes sure we are having a great time ! This was actually a Corporate Associate and friend we took to dinner. We always come back and ask for Jacobo.

We are extremely sad! Canaletto is our second home and now they will be closed forever......... Hopefully, they can find a new location. We will miss all Chefs, servers, Managers, staff...

$110 for 2 basic plates of pasta 1/2 the size it used to be w/o dessert and 2 small flutes of orange juice and champagne mixed in. Wont be going back until they get real again with pricing. 30 yr. patrons. Bye bye.
