Terrible service, never again. We came here to celebrate a coworker's birthday, water tasted like sewer, egg rolls were frozen and the Singapore noodles were too salty. Not worth the $120 we spent.

This place sucks because they have horrible service and they do not care. Also they pay more attention to their family friends then their actual customers.

Great food, the bartender is amazing. The service is always on point here. Get the French dip! The manager here is also very helpful as well.

Late review of this restaurant-- our party of 3 stopped by for a late Father's Day lunch. Pleasant staff who explained their new updated menu. Luckily not too busy on the restaurant side bc the bar area was packed! We ordered from the menu but also had special dietary requests which were nicely accommodated by Chef Tom. Thanks for being patient with a pregnant woman's requests! Try their jalapeí±o poppers, so addicting we ordered extras! Also, very tasty specialty rolls, our faves were their baked salmon, spicy tuna, and blue crab hand roll. Yummmm!

Disgusting. Fish is reminiscent of plastic. Asked for scallops and was told it would take long because they're frozen. I should have heeded the red flag right then and not ordered. Was told they didn't have ice tea so asked for water. Came out with ice tea and said he just made it, thanks for the chalky Nestea. Service is terrible and awkward at best. I was ignored for an extended period and had to hunt down an employee even though they kept passing by and it was obvious they could see me through peripheral. The decor and ambiance may as well be a unfurnished government tract home and what is there is bland, no personality at all.

Came here for the bento box lunch but found out (news flash!) they discontinued it because people weren't ordering it. So resorted to ordering other items on the menu and they were great! Ordered udon with shrimp and vegetables and thought it was a soup dish but it turned out to stir fried. Another surprise but it was super yummy. Very flavorful. Ordered the sushi and sashimi platter- fresh fish and nicely presented. Shrimp tempura was perfectly done- crispy on the outside, tender sweet shrimp on the inside and not greasy. Décor and ambiance was meh: Seeing the driving range and people putting while eating is entertaining but there was still construction going INSIDE the dining room and it was noisy and unpleasant. I mean REALLY LOUD with power tools. What business does that during the middle of the lunch hour?. Sat at a booth next to the windows and the tables are not big enough for the built in booths so you have lean waaaay forward in order to comfortably reach the food. Either come as a party of two and both of you sit on the same side so you can move the table closer or get a table and avoid the booth. Parking was super convenient. Plenty in front. I wouldn't come here for any special occasion but good as a a low key casual unique and uncrowded lunch spot. Don't let the address throw you off. The area feels more like costa mesa rather than Newport.

I attended the soft opening and the opening, first of all, I couldn't believe what they have done to this place, the remodel is gorgeous. The restaurant is open and airy, the bar is pretty. The soft opening the service was a bit off, they compensated with a discount for us. I had the Hibachi Chicken and it was delicious. The opening was amazing, we had sushi, it was so fresh and also delicious, we tried several varieties. Service was fantastic, very festive. The cocktails and wine are very generous pours. Great job, can't wait to go back again!t

Good Sushi. Fish is really fresh. Must try the Nigiri. Hibachi is good for to go. Good for the group. Will come back.

Went here after golfing. The service was terrible. It took an hour to get our food after ordering and once we got it the order came out wrong. The sushi didn't taste fresh and was mediocre. Would like to leave 1 and half stars because that's all it deserves. Would love to see this place step up its game but as it is, I won't return.

The Emerald Kitchen is located within the Newport Beach Golf Course facility. I watched the Masters this past Sunday while sitting at the bar in the newly remodeled bar and new restaurant. After ordering a drink and perusing the menu I ordered the Sushi lunch which consisted of three average sized sushi rolls. The sushi was excellent and the service was great. By the way the drinks at the bar are generously poured and reasonably priced.
