I have had great food at the San Diego Great Maple however we ordered two Caesar salads with salmon & it was literally a bagged Ceasar salad from the grocery store. The croutons were even the cheap little ones that come in a bag. The salmon was pathetic and thin and small. The dressing was bland and no Parmesan. Do not order this salad in fact they should take it off the menu because it’s obviously they don’t care about the presentation or taste. The sandwiches were excellent but not sure if I would eat here again!

My party and I waited for 2 hours to be served food. We had a reservation. The place was not packed. We received drinks in an almost timely manner, but after waiting for nearly almost 2 hours we had to ask for a menu. It was ridiculous and bazaar. We tried to get a hold of this female waiter with dark hair numerous times. Other workers walked around with obvious disregard. The blond server noticed but just did not care ( she kept walking back and forth numerous times glancing over but just did nothing about the issue). I guess it was not her zone. Other customers who arrived and were seated right next to us were served ASAP. That was so disappointing. The food was very appealing to the eyes but very tasteless. The coffee was warm and the waitress did not seem to understand that coffee and tea should be hot. She was just a mediocre mess. This waitress was so full of guile. She pretended to serve and would forget spoons, and necessary items for our meal. I felt so ashamed for her. I regret taking my hungry travel weary family members to this place. It’s an elegant place, but such a shame that their service and food was so terrible. I truly loved the ambiance and decor of The Great Maple, but you can’t eat ambience. I was hoping this place would be amazing. The decor is so delightful.

You are paying for the convenience / location.For lunch on a Thursday, I ordered the blat, my sister ordered the falafel, and my mom ordered a salad with dressing on the side.The blat had 0 flavor. I tried the shrooms on their own and they weren’t very good, my sister enjoyed the flavor though, so perhaps it’s a matter of preference. The regular French fries had more pizazz in my opinion. I’ve had better sandwiches at TOGOs or subway to be fairly honest. For $22, I expected way more. I tried adding jalapenos and salt, but the saving grace was some salad dressing to the sandwich. The waiter was kind to share a free dessert card for the next time we come back, but I personally won’t likely be back at their prices and plant based options.The falafel was dry, but it’s rare falafel is done right when eating out, so i’m not surprised. My sister appreciated extra tzatziki sauce to add some moisture to her meal.My mom’s salad came without dressing, but that was an easy fix. She was the only one to have rave reviews about her salad. She loved the vibrancy of the watermelon radishes and overall freshness of her greens.The atmosphere was clean and sophisticated, but that’s to be expected when dining at fashion island.Perhaps their breakfast or non-plant based options are better. For 3 meals and no alcoholic beverages at $100, the meal was overpriced and underwhelming. I did appreciate the waiter being receptive to the feedback, and the overall atmosphere of the location. However, I probably won’t be back on my own accord.

The food was not very good. Our French toast was burnt and bacon was cold. I had 2 small bites of avocado on my salad. My son had his plate for 10 minutes and the server came and took it away thinking he was finished. We won't be back
Highly recommend this lively and delicious place. If you like bacon, you'll love the Great Maple. Fresh donuts are to die for, and have little bacon bites on top! Salad dressing has a bacon flavor +++ Great staff/service, too
