The lady serving us for some reason was a jerk from our first order. She scoffed at my husband for ordering a side of rice. I never got a drink refill. And she was chatting the back in Korean. The sushi rice was a day old, the fish was fine. When it was time to pay she took the card out of my hands and slapped the receipt in my hands. I literally have no idea why she had such distaste for us. We weren’t Karens. The funny thing is, we went to pavilions that same day and my Philadelphia roll there was way better and fresher.

We ordered, Salmon Sashimi, Beef Gyoza, Super Crunch Roll, Crazy Roll. Everything was super delicious, HOWEVER the crumbs weren’t crunchy, so the super crunch wasn’t crunchy.

This restaurant added the tip to the bill and tried to hide it! Very dishonest. They added the tip to the bill and then tried to hide that fact by folding the receipt in half hiding where they added the tip to the bill. This left only the place where I need to sign that shows recommendations of how much to tip. This was done both to me and my friend that was eating with us on separate bills. We both initially added an additional tip but luckily I found the scam.The servers were very nice and the food was good but I suspect one person his responsible for this.

We were hungry, didn't know what we wanted, and stopped in here. I am so glad we did! Very good service and fantastic food. I loved the spiralized radish that the sashimi was served on. It provides a delicate crunch that compliments the fish. The Korean BBQ tasted great. We also had the Crazy Roll but I forgot to take a photo because I was distracted by the yumminess of everything.

It's ok if you want a cheap decent bite to eat. You get what you pay for. Freshness and quality are two different things. Is their food fresh? Yes. Is it high quality (with regards to the sushi/sashimi)? Not really. I would compare the quality to that what's usually offered at a good buffet. If you want high quality, excellent taste, well presented Japanese food, try Nobu, Rebel Omakase, Sota, Bluefin, San Shi Go, or Seabutter in the Newport Beach/Laguna Beach area. Are these places much more expensive? Yes, but why take a risk when eating raw seafood?
Best sushi place in CdM, period. Fresh fish, friendly staff, and excellent lunch specials. Don't let the location fool you, this is a gem.

We had a shrimp tempura udon, a miso ramen, and a spicy roll. The ramen and the roll were great. And the shrimp tempura udon was bomb diggity. It served at a perfect temperature with delightful taste of soy sauce. Digged up the bowl at the end! Highly recommened!!
