mid sushi for such expensive price, we ordered dumplings but the meat was sour and we also ordered chicken skewers and the meat ended up raw... at least the server was being nice about it and gave us a refund.

We were going to have lunch at one of the restaurants along Marina Pacifica but parking was horrible so we ended up going to 2nd & PCH. We found this restaurant and decided to try it since there were seats immediately available and we were starving. We were a party of seven and we're all disappointed with this place. Their sushi were ridiculously expensive considering the size of servings, not to mention that the taste of every dish is nothing special. Even their ribeye bowl was comparable to those cheap Yoshinoya bowls. I could've enjoyed those boxed noodles at Trader Joe's much more. We paid $241 for a very disappointing lunch. Never coming back again.

Used to come here a lot and decided to get to go today. Order was wrong and crispy rice tasted stale and was hard to bite. Having a long drive, not worth going back here. Place is not the same.

I have been to this location about 10 times. Roughly once a month. Each time I have been greeted warmly; asked if I would like to sit in either their 10 table inside space or 10 table outdoor space and provided with napkins and menus promptly. On my last visit our server, David, provided his usual brand of attentive but respectful service. A+ I recommend the spicy tuna on crispy rice if you like that dish with "everything on it". This is my go-to spot for that dish. I can also recommend the Red Poppy roll if you like your rolls with soy paper in lieu of nori. The tempura dishes are light and airy and all the nigiri dishes I have had have all been fresh and interesting. They are located just a few steps from the marina so don't expect strip mall pricing. This adds to the vibe in my book. I can take a walk and grab ice cream after dinner! Go!

Sushi was super good and fresh and the blood Orange margarita was so refreshing just what I needed in a hot day. The customer service was amazing. Lauren was super nice and attentive, especially that I had my baby with me. I will be here again.

We stopped in last night for dinner around 7. We were seated immediately. Our server had some great suggestions for first timers at Otosan. We had the blue crab crispy rice, Blondie roll, salmon sushi, and yellowtail belly (I think?). My 5 year old had the kids chicken skewers and rice (he loved it). Everything was delicious and came out as it was ready. I'm not sure why people are dinging the prices. The fish was so fresh and delicious. Pricing seemed on point to me and well worth it. We will be back!

Went with a friend last night to try them out. Ordered appetizer and dinner. Both came at same time. Not good but ok. Tempura was undercooked. Rice tasted like it was at least a week old!! Beef appetizer had very odd taste. Miso soup was ok. Bill was $80 plus. We vowed to never go back again. I love Japanese food but this place gives japanese food a bad name. Horrible! The owner should be ashamed.

Well came here just on the whim... definitely was hungry but not necessarily for this place...yet I'm glad that we stopped by. We where seated immediately... they had just opened and it was not busy. We shared two rolls and I got the miso soup. I will stop by again for another quick bite! I will check them out during dinner time to see if their customer service is still on point when it's busy!

I've loved this place since it opened. However, this evening I had exceptional service from David. He was on top of it the entire time. He even took the time to discuss some of his personal favorites when it came to Japanese beer. I can't wait to find and try these beers!! Look forward to coming back and having him as my server again!! Thanks David!!!

Most of my reviews of restaurants are rated at least 4 to 5 stars, so rating this restaurant at a 3 is significant. We decided to visit this restaurant because others have told me they heard, "it was good." We visited on a Friday at 6pm and there was no wait. Savannah took our order: garlic edamame, gyoza, miso soup, shishito peppers, Natsu special roll, and Lemon Tree special roll. The garlic edamame was more like eda mame with garlic sauce poured all over as opposed to eda name tossed in actual minced garlic, so this was a disappointment. The gyoza was partially cooked (one side was not cooked) and the red sauce that came with it was not flavorful. The miso soup was very salty, but did have a generous amount of tofu and seaweed. The shishito peppers were yummy! The Natsu special roll was refreshing and flavorful. The Lemon Tree was the one with the most flavor and it was delicious! When it came to paying for our food, I asked Savannah for a box for the shishito peppers and the check. After 15 minutes went by and noticed the restaurant wasn't busy, I asked another server, Jessica to please give us our check and a to go box because Savannah forgot about us. Early in our visit, Savannah did a good job at checking in with us, but eventually we felt like she forgot about us. The service and food were okay, nothing special, so we won't be returning. There are other sushi restaurants that offer excellent service and delicious food at reasonable prices.

I do not understand the 4 star rating. I felt completely ripped off eating here. The menu is pretty pricey, and given the location I can accept that. However, the quality was not there. My fiancé and I ordered their rainbow roll and simba roll that were $20 each. They were the smallest $20 rolls I have ever seen. I personally ate the simba roll and each cut had the smallest sliver of shrimp tempura and the tempura tasted old and stale. There wasn't much rice on the roll itself and overall the dish was tasteless. It honestly reminded me of ordering sushi from a mom and pop teriyaki spot on your local street corner. I also had a miso soup on the side and it tasted like dirty water. In total we spent $60 for two rolls, miso soup, and two sodas. We left hungry and ended up picking up a pizza, I will never be back.

Otosan is my go to sushi spot. The quality of the sushi is top tier and the dinner dishes are also excellent! My girlfriend and I come here for both dates nights and whenever we're craving sushi.

Very overpriced, it was alright. Waited over 25 minutes for an udon soup. Why? Not sure. Not many tables filled at 430pm.

"I don't want another good sushi spot in Long Beach" said no one ever! Another awesome sushi place here in town that I'll be frequenting. The location is ideal, lots of parking and so fun to do a little shopping after a nice meal. the restaurant Itself is also really cute. The fish was SUPER fresh, I consider myself fairly picky and I was impressed. I preferred the nigiri sampler and specialty lemon roll over the hamachi with jalapeño (not spicy at all really) Service was wonderful and fast - overall an awesome experience. See you soon Otosan!

This place just gets better and better. The quality of the fish is some of the best around. The pacific flight is perfection. The sea breeze roll is amazing. Yes it's pricey but it's worth it!!
