The restaurant was jumping, with a wedding party next door but the kitchen was wonderful, getting our orders correct and timely to the table. We had the most upbeat and adorable waitress, her positive attitude and smile lit up the room. One of our party said "shame the poor girl is so depressed" because she was 180 degrees from that, just a great attitude and excellent service. Our friends split a prime rib dinner and the kitchen got it perfect - medium and tender meat. Our friend asked for mashed potatoes with no gravy and they brought another serving for him right away. I had the chili which was meaty and spicy, my husband had their great burger also cooked perfectly. Except for a large table next to us it was possible to carry on a conversation in 'inside voices" for most of the evening. We'll be back.

The food was all delicious, the service superb and the music fun!! Nice to have such a good restaurant walking distance from our home. We love walking to it and walking back..good for digestion ???

Fun atmosphere at the bar. Great selection of drinks and Lacy serves them up perfectly. Bit older crowd but all good. Fish and chips and salads are recommended.

I attended a St. Patrick's Day event at Side Door in Corona Del Mar. So much fun! They had an Irish leprechaun playing piano, singing, and telling jokes and stories. He was so talented. It was a lovely evening with an authentic Irish feel. We had a flight of Tullamore Dew to top off our Irish evening. Side Door is always a nice place to go, but this was special!

Delicious updated menu. We tried the Herb Crusted Colorado Rack of Lamb ( wine and cocktails)...they were superb! The picture is missing 2 racks, we ate them before I took the picture. Nick at the bar was super nice and friendly. We also met Rose and Rayn, very nice people, and easy to talk to. Thanks for the nice dinner experience.

Just tried SideDoor for the first time with my mom and we really enjoyed the food! We recommend the prime rib sandwich with truffle fries! Bernard was absolutely amazing and provided top notch service! He truly made it a wonderful experience! Thank you Bernard!

Cozy, intimate even romantic dining. Especially at night during the winter. This is attached to Lawry’s 5 Crowns restaurant. It is its own stand alone restaurant. Has its own unique menu or you can usually order off the 5 Crowns menu. Expect a great experience from Lawry’s. When things do go wrong they usually notice on their own and try to find a solution. Very professional people.Parking: Valet parking is really the only option. The neighborhood has narrow, crowded streets with minimal parking available.

Great little hidden find. Had the onion soup and it's sooo good!! We found this on a winter night, made reservations online and went there so happy we found this!

We originally intended to eat at Five Crowns, but were shocked to hear the wait would be over 3 hours! Fortunately, we were directed to SideDoor, where the hostess was happy to seat us immediately. The ambiance is definitely livelier and more casual than Five Crowns, but you can order the same menu items and more! Food was just as good; we got the prime ribs, which were juicy and flavorful, and the sides (creamed corn, mashed potatoes, Yorkshire pudding) were all dangasti What really stood out to us was the service; Christina was extremely friendly and attentive, and you could tell that she really cared to do a great job! She went above and beyond for every one of her tables, chasing after a customer to reunite them with their forgotten box of cookies, as well as personally volunteering to help a couple make a reservation for later in the month. Christina was easily the best server I've had in a long time!

SideDoor is a cozy, convivial atmosphere with a focus on seasonal small plates, cheese, charcuterie, and a great selection spirits. Feels like an English gastropub mixed with Southern California style, it truly the "side door" of Five Crowns. The menu is constantly often, aiming to satisfy a range of unique flavors that pairs well with there wines, craft beers, and cocktails. Ideal for sharing, its warm ambiance and variety make it a local favorite for casual dining and socializing.

If you're a gastropub gal or gent you will surely appreciate this elevated version of one. From the moment you walk in, and steer to the right, the sideDoor side of the establishment (the left side is a sister restaurant, Five Crowns), you literally feel like you just teleported to Europe. And apparently you can order off either menu on either side (although we didn't because we were already eager and trying to figure out what to order from side car's menu). I loved the ambiance! We sat in the bar side at the high top tables, which were very comfortable. The inside dining area looked even cozier, like someone's living or dining room. I think there was even a fire place. Service was wonderful--I was very impressed with the knowledge and appreciation of the woman I'll call the charcuterie connoisseur, she knows her fromage! Everything we ordered was absolutely decedent and so rich. We tried the bone marrow appetizer, the cheese plate in which you curate yourself, and the prime rib (absolute must). We can't wait to go back!

Fantastic cocktail: Smoking Old Fashion--smelled divine & tasted amazing!! Scrumptious food: Prime rib sandwich beyond compare---seriously, the best. Ambience: Old World style meets New World music playlist; what a hoot! Superlative service: Patsy, Thank You, for a lovely evening from beginning to end.

Pretty good food though we found out it’s apart of Lawry’s, just with a British twist. Side door and Five Crowns are the same restaurant with the same menu, they are just on opposite ends of the building with a separate reservation and seating arrangement (kind of weird). I guess Side Door is just the more casual side and Five Crowns is the fine dining side, but the service was still impeccable.I do have to mention we had reservations we made a couple of weeks out, but when we arrived they kept trying to seat us in the bar area which is cramped with people standing and walking by.Also the parking is a little annoying, though they do have valet which helps. The food here is very good though. We opted to try some of the appetizers in lieu of steak/ prime rib which is what they are known for.Must-try the Yorkshire pudding which is served in a popover bowl. It’s delicious!!!
