Pretty bad experience. I was taking my wife to this place for an anniversary this Thursday. Arrived around 7:30 and left around 8:50. Chef has no interaction with customer at all, and server cannot remember the name of sashimi in the plates server even chef told her in front of us. I guess that’s why this place charge mandatory service fee since no one will tip for this kind of service at a fine dinning place. Been to lots Japanese omakase restaurants, this one really disappointed me and not worth the price. There was only 3 group of guest and why you guys trying to kick people out quick? We ordered a whole bottle of sake and when all the food was served we still have half bottle left which makes us need to hurry and finish it. Not recommended and never gonna come to this place again. Train your employees better before charging high price.

I am an omakase fan and have been to over 20 omakase places and used to come here a couple times. This time is my worst experience among all the Japanese omakases I have been. We came on 2/29, and were 10min late, but the servers are so hurry to give us all the dishes. Even before we order the drinks, the first dish was served. There is one time we have 3 dishes together on table and we were forced to eat very fast. There is no introduction or any description for each dish. For all the onakases I have been to, even the very cheap ones, the server is supposed to introduce the dishes and tell us the order of eating. But she can’t even remember name of each sashimi, and no one tells us the name of each sushi. We finished the entire meal within 1.5hr which is way too fast for an omakase. The food was okay but not worth the price at all. We ordered a 100$ alcohol. The price in the end is 840$ for 2 people includes 20% mandatory service charge while there is no service at all. Very disappointed this time. Will never come again and won’t recommend anyone to come.

Exceeded our expectations and was a very authentic Japanese experience. Some people commented that the price was too high, but the sushi was great and unique anywhere outside of Japan. I would recommend and will definitely come back when in Orange County.

Went to their Kaiseki experience for a friend's birthday. The courses were amazing with good pacing. They kept an attentive eye on us. We didn't feel rushed but they were very fast at giving us the next course once we finished our previous one. Food - delicious food with the sushi chefs preparing it in front of you. They were super nice and explained each dish to us. Their tuna, just, wow! Service - very attentive staff. Very efficient. Courteous staff. They always made sure we had our water filled and if we needed more drinks. Ambiance - very chill with soft music in the background. Minimalistic decor that really matched with the overall vibe of the place.

This restaurant is such a hidden gem (hidden to me!) very sweet chefs & staff, they are so careful not to overbook so you get a lot of time to chat with everyone and watch the sushi be prepared. Every course was explained thoroughly and it was all delicious! Very relaxing ambiance, I want to come back & bring my friends!

Can't recommend this place more. I think this is the best sushi restaurant in Laguna Beach/Newport Beach. Lovely experience. The food was excellent as well as the service. Price is actually quite reasonable for the quality/freshened and presentation. Will surely come back soon. I didn't take more pictures as I was busy eating.

Clean looking place. The service staffs were wonderfully attentive. We were seated right at the bar and got the full view of the chef at work plating up the beautifully kaiseki set. Everything was wonderful, except for one main item... And that is the food. For $275 pp for kaiseki, I was expected to be wowed, and unfortunately, my palate's response was a lukewarm of... meh...nothing to really be impressed.

$600 for Omakase for 2. Brought our own wine so paid corkage fee. Restaurant was empty and they rushed us through the sushi which was the worst we've ever had in Orange County. Emailed the restaurant the next day and never got a response. Horrible experience

The chefs in the average Japanese restaurant are all older and experienced Japanese. The restaurant charges a fixed service charge of 20% and a 15% tip.

Overall this is an ok omakse place. especially when compared to other omakase spots in OC. My main gripe with this place is that they don't use fresh wasabi and instead horseradish based wasabi which I could instantly taste. For the price I'd expect there to be fresh wasabi used.

I came here for my birthday yesterday and I was blown away by this little spot tucked away. The omakase here is unmatched! You know it is good when the pieces taste so clean and fresh. Nothing was fishy, everything tasted clean and like the sea (in a good way). A lot of the pieces were local, like from Santa Barbara. I appreciated the attention to detail from the staff who took very good care of us and never let our wine cup or water cup empty they remembered it was my birthday and brought out the staff to sing me happy birthday! I felt so special :)
