There are only 14 tables, but the staff were wonderful. The prices demand it but you will get attentive service. And the ambience is spectacular. You get to sit by a dock with water right next to you. It is a very romantic place. They don’t have any loud music which is great. Their wine list is extensive. And with the corkage being $75 may as well try their wines.The cuisine is French, which I love. The scallops were perfect. I did not like the gravy as much as it tasted overly sweet. The pork loin was only OK because it could be more tender and it was a little dry. The brioche bread pudding is good though I make it better. I loved the mushroom soup.

EXCELLENT! We were seated with no wait, and enjoyed great service throughout the evening, starting with perfect martinis. The appetizers and salads were very nicely prepared, and our scallop and Halibut entrees delicious. It was our first time, and we will return.

This restaurant is a gem! Probably one of the best restaurant meals I have had. The Crispy octopus was amazingly tender and flavorful. The rack of lamb was also so tender and tasty with the ratatouille, hummus and couscous sides. Portions are large. No room for dessert but they sounded delicious. My only criticism was my cocktail had very little flavor (Catalina something) But still a fantastic meal!
My wife and I booked for our anniversary. I could not have imagined a better setting. The staff ensured we had the best table and service. The food was remarkable and satisfying. The ambiance was warm, cozy and familiar though it was our first time dining there. Overall delightful experience and will definitely return.
We dined here to celebrate some recent successes at work and were blown away. I have lived in Newport Beach for years now and am mad I hadn't known about The Dock sooner! Our server was knowledgeable and made great recommendations. I had the halibut special and it was truly the best halibut I have ever had. It was so special to dine right on the water in a very cozy and intimate setting!

I can't imagine a more wonderful, personal, delightful, and more elegant dining experience than the Dock. I hate writing this review, because it will be harder for them to squeeze me in if too many people read this, but, what an amazing place. Our special memories at the Dock stretch back for more than a decade, and hopefully will extend forward for many years to come. Wow! What a find.
Seating is right next to everyone if you are seated in the middle tables. You essentially are eating with both your neighbors and can hear and end up partaking in everyone's conversations.
The halibut is exquisite. This is a small cozy place with excellent food, and their own boat slip just outside.

I was looking for a special place to take clients to dinner that would impress them but also be enjoyable. Danielle and her brother provided excellent service. I am also so thankful for what this hidden gem has to offer. We ordered a bottle of wine and all of the specials on the menu. To say we were delighted and well taken care of just doesn't seem impactful enough. We were delighted and everyone made a great impression on us. We will be back! Thank you for everything. Sad to hear Danielle is moving to Texas. She will be missed.
